Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2012
I read a lot of the reviews on here and several said that they don't know why this is the best chocolate chip cookie recipe, because it has the same or similar ingredients as any other chocolate chip cookie recipe, but...WOW! This totally knocked my socks off! They smell like the quintessential chocolate chip cookie AND they will satisfy both crunchy cookie people (baked a couple minutes longer) as well as soft cookie people (like me!). Thank you SOO much for posting this!!!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
Just made these and my 6 year old DS and I are definitely hooked! I added cinnamon to my muffin ingredients because I ADORE cinnamon. This could easily be made into an English Breakfast Muffin (a recipe in one of my parent's cookbooks when I was a kid that I can no longer locate) by omitting the fruit and adding cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice to both the muffin mixture and the crumble topping. Thank you so much, Colleen, for posting! It is amazing! *!*!* UPDATE - I had a lot of blueberries to use up and had to sub out some of the ingredients because I didn't have everything I needed and everyone RAVED about it! in the muffin, 1/2 c white sugar, 1/4 c agave nector and EVOO instead of veggy oil, and doubled the blueberries. In the topping - added fresh nutmeg and allspice and used all brown sugar. They came out almost souffle-like!!

Best White Icing Ever

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2011
Perfect! I cut the sugar down to 3.5 cups and added .5 cups of cocoa powder and whipped it (adding water to get the consistency that I wanted) and it is perfect! Not too sweet, not too chocolate-y

Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies With Cayenne

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2011
I was reading the reviews and looking at the recipe and I made just a few adjustments. First, I made a double batch because they are going to a friend and his boss as a thank you gift. I cut back on the sugar by 1/4 cup each. I used half dark cocoa powder and half regular cocoa powder. I omitted the chocolate chips. I also added some fresh ground nutmeg, a dash of allspice, and 1/4 tsp allspice. These are AMAZING! They would be amazing as written - very sweet but amazing. I adjusted it to suit my taste. Cayenne always kicks up a wonderful floral flavor in chocolate. I definitely suggest you try it!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
I've been making this recipe for about a year now and I can't believe I haven't rated it yet! This is an AMAZING recipe for sugar cookies! They have made me famous everywhere I take them. Thank you for posting! I make with just a couple of modifications: Add 1/2 cup extra sugar and an extra teaspoon of vanilla.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2010
I'll be honest, I was skeptical because I'm neurotic about homemade from scratch food, so I cut this recipe in half. I'm impressed! The only change I made was by adding a tablespoon of corn syrup to bind the dough together. They came out amazing! Thanks for the post Debbi!

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

I honestly can't believe I haven't rated this yet! This is truly my son's favorite Saturday morning routein! Mommy gets up and makes a double batch of these and he munches on them all weekend. None are left by the time Monday rolls around! I have also made garlic cheddar biscuits with this recipe, just added a couple/few handfulls of shredded cheese and some granulated garlic and they turned out amazing! Thanks for posting! 5 stars indeed

Best Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2010
W.O.W.! I have read some of the reviews and took the advise of those that have had success with it. First: I tasted the flour/milk mixture to make sure it wasn't "floury" tasting, and it wasn't. While I let it cool, I beat the sugar and butter together for about 10 minutes. I then added the flour/milk mixture and let it continue to beat together for another 5 minutes. Added the vanilla extract and it came out beautifully smooth and amazing! Can't tell you enough how amazingly smooth and delicious this is! Thanks for posting!

The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2010
This is an awesome cookie! For those who are looking for a chewy peanut butter cookie, this is not for you. This is a melt in your mouth, crumbly cookie. Absolutely amazing! I did take them out when they were not quite completely set (but not wet looking either), and the first bite sent me straight to heaven! Absolutely lovely texture and flavor! I used crunchy peanut butter, so I omitted the peanuts all together, still got a good crunch. Thanks for posting Kevin!

Laura's Quick Slow Cooker Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
Had to add in my 2 cents! This is an awesome recipe! I didn't use all spice as I didn't have any, so I took the advise of another reviewer and added montreal steak seasoning and it turned out amazing! The second time I made it, I used a combo of red, black and pinto beans, cooked those for 18 hours after soaking 24 hours, then added in the rest of the ingredients and cooked for another 10 hours, and that made it AMAZING and soooo thick! Definitely something i will be making as much as possible! Thanks Laura!

No Bake Cookies III

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
Wonderful cookie! One of my co-workers LOVES these, so I'm making them for her for Christmas. The texture and taste are right on! Thanks to other reviewers for helping with the timing thing. I'm not much of a candy maker, so definitely a huge help! Thanks for posting! ~*~*~*~*~Edit~*~*~*~*~ I just tried this again, going by the same guidelines, except I covered the bottom of a small muffin tin with mini marshmallows and then put them mixture on top...OMH! This was ASTOUNDINGLY good! I think I'm going to make a second batch and make it into a bar cookie, covering the top with marshmallows while it's still hot so they stick to it. MMMMMM!

Soft Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
Reduced flour to 3 cups, rolled out with confectioners sugar, used butter instead of margarine, reduced temperature to 350 and baked for 10 minutes. These are awesome! I'm going to be icing them with a recipe from this site and posting pictures as soon as they are done! I'm happy with these because the shape you cut them into, they come out as! No spreading or sides falling. These would be excellent as a cookie bouquette, I would just bake them longer so they are a bit more sturdy. Thanks for posting Georgie!

FABULOUS! Thank you so much for sharing! This is the recipe of my child hood!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
Wonderful ginger cookie! I followed directions to the letter and I came up with 24 perfect cookies! The dough was not sticky outside of what I would expect for cookies (no sticking my hand into a bucket of gooey dough), and they taste phenomenal! I will try to sustitute orange juice for the water, however made as written, amazing and perfect! Thanks for posting AMY!

Buttery Pan Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
I am a chicken: I did proof my yeast, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly and it is PERFECT! Any roll you make from scratch is bound to not be as quick as pulling something pre-made out of a package, but that's the cost of showing your family extra love. Lovely dough to work with! Thanks Charlotte!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
I'm going to throw my 2 cents in here as well! With minor modification, these were AMAZING! I didn't have sour cream, so instead of the buttermilk, I used heavy whipping cream. I didn't have sour cream, so I added more heavy whipping cream (come on! They are already not healthy for you! Caution to the wind and such). I did sub the 6 tbsp coco, 7 tbsp sugar, 1/4 cup butter for the semi-sweet baking squares and added an extra egg. Very moist and VERY chocolaty! I'm a chocaholic and one regular size muffin did me in! Thanks for posting! Will be making again!
