Pork Ribs Piquant

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2015
I made this tonight and my family loved it! I did change a few things. I was in a hurry for dinner so instead of baking it I let it simmer on the stovetop in the sauce for about 40 minutes. The ribs were tasty and tender! I also discovered I didn't have any dry mustard so I used Dijon instead. I also made a butter and flour rue before adding the sauce to the pan. After tasting it I decided it could use a little heat and I added some red cayenne pepper. It was a easy week night dinner to pull off in a hurry.

Bacon Mushroom Swiss Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2012
My husband and I love this meatloaf! Yes, it does take a bit of prep work but so worth it. I did make just a few changes. My husband hates onion chunks so I use onion powder and a bit of minced garlic. I also add onion powder, garlic, salt, and pepper to the burger. I always use regular milk and breadcrumbs. Instead of shredded Swiss I use sliced Swiss cut into chunks, then you find this wonderful melted cheese in the middle. It also makes a great sandwich the next day...if there are any leftovers!

Juicy Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2011
This made the best chicken ever! I was looking for something that would add flavor to my chicken dumplings so I decided to roast the chicken instead of boiling. I followed the recipe exactly but I added about 15 minutes to the cook time because my chicken was larger. I also added thyme and parsley to the salt and pepper. I hate celery so I skipped that but the chicken was wonderful. I can't wait to make it again.

Italian Breaded Pork Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
I made this for my husband tonight and we both loved it. The breading was so flavorful. I hate soggy breading so to prevent this I removed the pork chops from the skillet and baked them on a wire rack over a cookie sheet. The only thing is that there was way to much of the bread crumb mixture so I'll cut in half next time. They were wonderful!

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2010
My husband and I loved this recipe! It was a little runny when it first came out of the oven but after it set up it was perfect. We are both planning on taking leftovers to work tomorrow. The only thing I plan to change next time is to season the ricotta cheese a little but other then that it was perfect. Thanks for another great recipe.

Creamed Turkey with Bow Ties

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
This was a good recipe, not great but good. I did make a few changes. I used ground turkey and I added onion powder, garlic powder, ground sage, and parsley. I also nixed the celery, onion, and sour cream. We like sauces a little thicker so I did thicken this up with some flour. This recipe would be great for a weeknight when you don't have much time.

My husband and I loved this recipe! I served it with gnocchi and green beans. However, we thought by adding the sour cream it gave the mushroom gravy a more stroganoff flavor. Instead of water and beef bouillon I used beef broth and instead of adding cornstarch at the end I added 2 tablespoons. of flour to the mushrooms and cooked it for a few minutes so you wouldn't taste the raw flour. Overall, this was a great recipe and easy to do.
