My favorite family cooking traditions
i come from minnesota, so i was raised on meat and potato's. my husband would be happy with a chunk of meat, nothing else! i try to keep it interesting, and pleasurable for my son, husband, and ME!
My cooking triumphs
i did a seafood cioppino for my in-laws around christmas time. i had a wonderful bottle of petite syrah and the cioppino turned out incredible! i actually froze the leftovers and had it on new years eve! delish~~
My cooking tragedies
i attempted to make 'healthy' muffins for my son to bring to preschool. i used the leftover 'stuff' from my juicer, and it not only looked awful it tasted awful!

Quinoa Broccoli Casserole
Yummy! Took some time, but easy to do ahead, just through in oven when needed. I stopped using canned cream of mushroom, celery, chicken, a while ago. I keep a dry mix in my pantry that I made myself. It tastes amazing, and only a few ingredients that you CAN pronounce! I substitute plain greek yogurt for the sour cream, and added other veggies. I also used the cheese I had on hand, brie, and cheddar; what a great combo! Finally, I omitted the fried onions, used just a little panko bread crumbs on the top. One negative observation, the appearance! It looked like a pile of mush, but a very tasty one!

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers
I thought these were lovely! The day I had planned to make them, I was also cooking red kidney beans. Because they were handy, I used them instead of the black bean. I also took the advice of a review, and froze the patty before grilling.

Sunday Afternoon Slow-Cooked Spare Ribs
Amazing! First, I loved the title, "Sunday afternoon..." I had beef ribs instead of pork, I think either one would of been just fine. I only had half a lemon, so after squeezing out the juice, I through the rest of lemon in with sauce and ribs. This dish barley made it to the table, the smell throughout the house was epic!
