Garden Pasta Salad

This was very good. I made a couple of changes: I didn't have celery or green bell pepper, so I left those out. I thought the dressing was overkill so I used about 4 oz. instead and I didn't have the Red Gold tomatoes with all the seasonings so I substituted 3 fresh basil leaves and about a tbsp. fresh parsley. The recipe is very forgiving, so make it any way you want! One last thing, if I put in the carrots in at all next time, I'll be sure to shred them. Sorry if I sound like I'm complaining. I'm just saying what I did differently!

Basic Corn Muffins

Delicious! Try it with buttermilk; I think it tastes better. For those of you who don't like sweet cornbread, you should try using about a tsp. of honey instead. I used 3/4 cup all-purpose flour and 1 1/4 cups cornmeal to make it healthier.

Whole Grain Waffles

I left the the flax seed meal out and I added a Tbsp. more of sugar. I didn't use whole wheat pastry flour-just whole wheat flour. Delicious!

Key Lime Pie VII

Delicious! Very easy to make! It's also very good with lemons and regular limes (those little key limes are a pain to juice), and picky eaters love it. UPDATE: I've been making it now with fat free sweetened condensed milk and nobody can tell the difference!

Home-Style Vegetable Beef Soup

I doubled it for my food-consuming family. Instead of using all V-8 juice, I used a can of V-8 as well as a can of tomato. I didn't put the water in. Delicious!

Tomato Tang Salad Dressing

I thought this recipe was good, but not great. It had too much vinegar in it. I didn't put the basil, thyme, or ketchup in it, either, so it probably would've tasted better with those added.

French Toast II

I'd give this 4.5 stars if I could. It was very easy to make, and although I burned a couple, they still tasted good! I didn't really measure anything except the milk, as it didn't seem necessary. The centers turned out a little soggy. Next time I'm going to cut off the crusts, cut the bread into bite-size pieces, and cook those. Great recipe!

Crazy Cake

Something was off about the flavor of this cake. My mom said she thought it had black tea in it, but I didn't add any. Granted, I did use milk instead of water and I left out the cocoa because I'm allergic. It's kinda growing on me, though. I might make this again with different changes.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Okay, I'm updating my review after making them for the third time. I was hesitant to try them after not-so-good results the first time, but I'm glad I did. First, I halved the salt. It was plenty salty. Second, I increased the sugar to 2 Tbsp. Third, I decreased the oil (I used this instead of butter) to about 1 1/2 Tbsp. Fourth, I used white whole wheat flour. It worked perfectly. I also put a little more milk in because it was too thick. So, all that said, I think this is a good recipe, but not fantastic.

Whole Wheat Muffins

Wonderful recipe! It's really easily adapted. I've tried banana blueberry muffins by substituting the milk for bananas (I added a little milk to soften the mixture) and adding blueberries! I'm going to try lemon poppy seed muffins sometime--yum!

Springtime Spinach Salad

Okay, I made tons of changes, but it was still WONDERFUL!! I took out the bacon, kiwi, and mandarin orange simply because I didn't have them on hand. Second, I took out the onion and eggs because I don't care for them. I didn't make as many changes to the dressing--all I did was use regular mustard instead of spicy brown mustard. Oh, I didn't have any croutons on hand, either. So, my salad turned out much simpler than it was supposed to be, but it was still GREAT!! Thank you so much!

Easy Pizza Sauce II

The first time I made this sauce I found that it ran over the sides of my pizza if I use sauce as the recipe calls for, but when I used crushed tomato, it worked perfectly! Overall, great recipe!

This is a great fried chicken recipe! Talk about easy!! Instead of the black pepper and the garlic salt, I did seasoned salt and garlic powder. I cooked the chicken in the oven instead of a pan. Yummy!

Chicken Pot Pie I

I like to make this recipe when I'm in a rush; it's so easy! We normally have chicken breasts on hand already cooked, which makes it even easier. ~Later: I'm going to try to make this a little healthier by substituting a homemade sauce (1 cup chicken broth, 1/2 cup skim milk, 1 Tbsp. flour, salt, and pepper) for the chicken soup.

Impossibly Easy Coconut Pie

This recipe is so easy! My brother can't eat dairy so this recipe works out wonderfully for our family. I just substitute soy milk for the milk. Also, I didn't have any Bisquick on hand, so I substituted 1/2 cup flour and a teaspoon baking powder.
