Chicken Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2010
I'll need to perfect my wok technique but this was very flavorable. No MSG! Will do again.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2010
Wow! The wife loved this one. The only, only change I would make the next time would be to use brown sugar instead of white sugar. But, that's it. Easy to make too. Would be good for a crowd too.

Kay's Spaghetti and Lasagna Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2010
This is an excellent recipe. I suggest you make this recipe 'as specified' in the recipe and then tweak it to your personal taste. I made a batch and really like the flavors. Second batch was modified a bit by removing the green bell peppers, adding more garlic, a splash of wine and I let it simmer for 2 hours. Wonderful!

Fudge Brownies I

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2010
Whew! Lots of butter definitely. These have the texture that I really like. Easy to make and I even used one of those brownie pans with the dividers - "as seen on TV" LOL!

Easy Meatloaf

This recipe just worked as it was supposed to. Wife says, "Make this again!" The only thing I changed was the topping. Substituted Honey BBQ sauce.

Grandpa's Guacamole

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2010
This is a great recipe for "quick" avocado dip. This would be okay for a "what do I prepare?" for the office party. There are one or two drawbacks; one it is a bit salty for our tastes so backing off the Ranch dressing is in order; and two it could use a couple ounces of a good Salsa or Pico de Gallo. I'll try it again that way.

Simple Roasted Chickpea Snack

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
I followed the recipe and baking time as stated which only proved that my oven must be slow. They weren't as crispy as I had hoped for. I also gave them a good dose of garlic salt at the end to enhance the flavor. Might try them again however, baked at 400.

Cousin David's Slow Cooker Brisket

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
I don't know what I might have been expecting of this recipe. I did use a brisket - not corned beef of course but it turned out more like pot roast and was completely disassembled and did not slice like traditional brisket. It's worth another try though and watch the cooking time. Taste is good though.

Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
I brined the turkey overnight and it turned a cheapo .67 cent/lb turkey into a masterpiece. The turkey did finish about 30 minutes early and the popout button did not go off. I tested the bird with a meat thermometer plunged into the thigh looking for 160+ degrees. The white meat was running with juices. Everyone loved this turkey. Thanks.

Italian Breaded Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2009
Excellent and EASY and tasty recipe worthy of serving to guests. I agree with some others about the eggs and seasoned bread crumbs. I had a lot left over even after 4 thick chops. I suggest backing off of the amounts and gauging based on the number/size of chops you'll be cooking.

Penne with Shrimp

Excellent recipe and very easy to prepare. I'll do this one again. Also, works well without the wine as the wine opener was broke, and I now have a new one.
