About this Cook
My name is Olivia and I'm currently living in Northern California with my husband. I've enjoyed cooking since I was a little girl, when I would sit and watch either my father or my grandmother work their ways around the kitchen. At this moment in time, I'm currently a "housewife"... so I get to create & cook meals on a regular basis!
My favorite things to cook
I don't really have a favorite. My hubby always wants me to make Mexican food (tacos, enchiladas, empanadas, etc.) I enjoy trying out new recipes and tweeking them once I've tried the original, to my likeness. Being able to recreate a recipe and see others enjoy it always puts a smile on my face=)
My favorite family cooking traditions
My absolute favorite family tradition is making lumpias with my dad & sister. I always have a great time cooking side by side with my family!
My cooking triumphs
Anytime my family/friends rave about a dish that I have made, I percieve that as a triumph!
My cooking tragedies
I can't exactly think of any cooking "tragedies"... however, when my husband doesn't go back for seconds, I take it to heart (I don't tell him that though lol).

Buffalo Shrimp
These are awesome! I do have to fry twice in order to get really crispy, but besides that they always turn out great! Only difference I make is that I don't add the minced garlic to the buffalo sauce. I don't think it even really needs it! Thanks for sharing!

Lumpia (Shanghai version)
This reminded me of my aunts lumpias growing up! I did add chopped water chestnuts, green onions, lots of garlic, rice wine vinegar & omitted the white onions. Really great and everybody loved them... All 50 we gone in the matter of minutes. Thanks for sharing!

Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad
Everybody loved this... Even those who said they aren't usually ones for pasta salad. I did add 3 cloves minced garlic, frozen peas and about 1/2 cup of chopped green onion... And used 1/2 mayo & 1/2 light sour cream. Really great for potlucks and picnics! Thanks for sharing!
