Hoagie Dip

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
Sounds strange, but is the best dip! I made it once and since then it has been requested at every party. I often add capicola, bologna and provalone to the mixture as well. It is great served on bread or crackers. I promise you, it will not be around long once it is served!!

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
Wonderful soup! I just roasted the squash in the oven first for 45 mins, the followed the recipe. I reduced the cream cheese a little, but think it would be good either way. I added cooked bacon and sour cream on top. YUMMMYYYY!!! This is a keeper!

Chocolate Mint Dessert Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
My family and I LOVE this brownie. My mom has been making it for years, we call it the Creme de Menthe brownie. She also adds green food coloring to the mint filling, just to look festive. I just asked her last night if she was making them this year :) Also, these freeze great! We have freezed them for up to a year and they come out perfect and good. We usually can't wait until they are thawed before cutting into them. I have even traveled from MD to FL on plane with packages of these... you will love them, guaranteed!

Great soup! I did as some others and did half velveeta and half mild cheddar and used real broccoli. I think it would be great either way!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2009
This was the first time I ever made Buffalo chix dip...it was a hit! yes, it comes out a strange orange color, but it is soooo good! The only change i made was to cook the chicken in a little butter, adds to the flavor. Served with Fritos, the family loved it!! Will make again!

Dawn's Easy Red Velvet Sandwich Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2009
These cookies were such a hit this Christmas! I made exactly as written, except used Vanilla extract instead of liquor. I made half with no coconut or nuts and half with all. They are so rich a delicious, you can only have 1. Plus, the recipe states to make the cookies into walnut sized balls. When I did that I did not get the right amount of cookies. I cut it down to about chestnut size balls and it came out right. However, they really could have been even smaller. The cookies came out about 2 1/2 to 3 inches wide, which is pretty big for a rich cookie. These are definitely a keeper!!!

Lighter Snickerdoodles

I absolutely love snickerdoodles and these were the best. I can not tell they are lighter one bit. They are wonderful, no changes made.

Basil Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2010
Excellent soup. I couldn't find fresh basil so I used the tube stuff from the store and it was still great. I also like my soup a little thicker, so I made a rue and added that at the end, but that did not alter the taste. I also think it needed a bit more sugar and did not need all the butter the recipe calls for, but I made it that way and it is excellent!! Husband even says it is great, which doesn't happen often with soups. Will make again for sure!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2010
Great Recipe, crust did not turn out soggy. I used frozen peas/carrots/gb mix. Could have used more sauce, but I think that is personal preference.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2010
Great Pot Roast! Used Chuck roast and seared it as others said, 1 can soup and swapped out 1 can beef consume for the water. Put in onions, celery, carrots and potatoes for last 1.5 hours. For the first time, our veggies didn't taste terrible as they usually do with pot roasts in the slow cooker. I think the gravy mix is what made the difference. I usually hate the flavor of onion soup mix in these type dishes as it isn't my favorite, but this one was wonderful and I didn't taste it as much! This is a keeper!!

Stovetop Bratwurst Dinner

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2010
A change to the regular Bratwurst dinner...we loved it and hubby actually said...this is a keeper! that doesn't happen often. If you are looking for something else different, google a recipe for bratwurst w/ sour cream sauce. I don't remember where I got it but it is an excellent recipe for another change to boring bratwurst dinners :)

Sausage Stuffing Balls

These were really good! We used the stovetop as others suggested, and made our own sausage gravy to go with it. One of the best flavored meatballs we have ever had.

Hash Brown Casserole II

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2010
Made some slight changes which I think did this wonders! I am guessing the original is just as good, but I loved it the way I made it so hard to go back. Changed the cheddar cheese to Velveeta and put panko bread crumbs on top because I didn't have corn flakes. Wonderful, will make again!!!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
These choc chip cookies are definitely one of the best. I couldn't believe just the little differences make such a change in the cookie. slightly chewy in the middle and crispy on the edges. Take them off the pans immediately when coming out of the oven to keep from flattening.

Mini Candy Bar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
These were so easy and are really good. Don't let sit on the cookie sheet too long as the bottoms will get dark. Tried with milky way candies as well for those allergic to nuts.

Cherry Snowballs

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
I doubled the recipe and came out with about 60 pretty good sized cookies. I made 1/2 with the coconut topping and 1/2 dipped in sugar/milk/cherry juice mixture; for those who don't like coconut. Very good and not too sweet.

Berry Shortbread Dreams

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
Very, very good recipe. Made last year with original recipe and was loved by all. This year I used vanilla instead of almond extract, and sprinkled with confectioners sugar instead of the glaze. It is just as great!
