Chocolate Banana Bread

We used yogurt instead of sour cream and it was absolutely wonderful!!! Will make this again and again, maybe some Christmas gifts as well.

Florentine Artichoke Dip

Tastes a bit too mayonnaise-ish, but overall very, very good.

Caramel Filled Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2002
It's okay, but certainly not the best. The chocolate cookie part just didn't taste right at all, and after 1 day, the flavors didn't blend with the filling and the cookie. It was messy and time-consuming and I won't make it again.

Peanut Butter Fudge IV

I got this recipe from a co-worker. I make it in a 9x13 pan with crunchy peanut butter.

I add more salsa to it than the recipe calls for. We love it!! It is simple and extreamly good!

I was disappointed. It was good, but not really great. I doubt that I will make it again.

Chicken Savoy

It was just okay. I agree that it was rather bland. I don't think we will make this one again.

Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2001
It was almost chiffon-like with the beaten egg whites. I beat them til they were merangue, and it gave the pie an incredible texture. It didn't taste pumpkiny enough for me, though.

Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2001
I didn't really like the bourbon, I think next time I will leave it out. It was too strong. And it is more of a chocolate pie than a pecan pie. But the more we ate it, the more we liked it. We think it is best with vanilla ice cream. Great pie for chocoholics!!

I liked the cornish splits better, these were a little too sweet for me.

Waldorf Salad II

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2001
Why do they have celery in these salads? I think they taste terrible. We put in vanilla yogurt instead of mayo and sugar, and had grapes instead of raisins. The only bad part was the celery!

Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2001
I used Italian Sausage (Jimmy Dean's) in place of beef- which was INCREDIBLE, cottage cheese in place of ricotta and parmesan in place of romano. I also used 2 jars of spaghetti sauce and 1/2 cups (1 package shredded all together) extra mozzerella. Also added a couple cloves of minced garlic. Can't leave that out!! It was the absolutely the best lasagna ever! I also used the no-cook lasagna noodles and just put them in the dish dry, it worked great- and saved a lot of time and mess. I highly recommend these changes to anyone. I will be making it again and again. My boyfriend was ecstatic as well!

Pumpkin Swirl Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2001
This bread is fabulous. We didn't have 3 8x4 pans, so we did 2 8x4s and 1 9x5 that was half -3/4 full. Took the 9x5 out of the oven 10 minutes early. It was wonderful- just like the 8x4s! I will definitely make this one again!

It was too buttery and fatty, I would definitely take out the butter in the future and possibly try water instead of milk.

Award Winning Peaches and Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2001
Fabulous!!! Sort of a cross between cheesecake, cobbler & pie. I used 4 fresh peaches, that worked fine. I could not find a 10" deep dish pie plate, so I used a 10" plain one. It spilled over a tad when I used more than 4 peaches, but otherwise worked great.

Peach Cream Pie II

This is a weird one. I only used 4 peaches, medium to large sized, and I could barely fit a cup of cream in there! It was tasty, though.

Blackberry Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2001
The recipe is better with slightly more sugar in it, and with a bunch sprinkled on top. I think it has a bit too much butter, though. I may try it with less next time.
