About this Cook
I love all things old. I think everything pre 1960 is awesome. The cars, clothes, houses, everything. It was beautiful. Things weren't just function, they had form as well. There was pride and quality in the way people did things.
My favorite things to cook
I have to admit, I am a better baker than a cook. I think my friends have radar for when I turn on the oven. I have yet to keep a batch of cookies for myself.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I loved the fact that if someone showed up at dinner time, the family insisted they stay. The dinner table was always lively and warm.
My cooking triumphs
I like cooking from scratch. Canned, frozen and pre-made foods are not my thing. I blew my mom away last year when she found out I baked my own bread. That was quite a coup.

Mom's Pumpkin Pie
This is the best pumpkin pie I've ever tasted! I made it exactly like the recipe. The only difference is that I did use fresh pumpkins rather than canned.

This is the best croissant recipe! Flaky, buttery, goodness in every bite. The trick is keeping the dough COLD. If not you'll end up with a big, greasy, mess.

Clone of a Cinnabon
I don't think this recipe needs one more review, but WOW! It's awesome! I did double the cinnamon/brown sugar mixture. I like them really sticky.
