My cooking triumphs
My first try at a soup was a bisque. It turned out beautifully, rich and delicious. Now I am so excited to try making my favorite soups.
My cooking tragedies
I currently use an older oven so the temperature is pretty unpredictable. I made a pound cake which the oven was too hot and I didn't know. The cake came out with a protective crust on it but once that was pealed off it tasted amazing. I did buy an oven thermometer, but half the time I am so busy that when I get the time to cook I forget that the oven is probably wrong until it is to late.

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken
The chicken was very moist and flavorful. I am rating low because honey is an expensive ingredient to use on a meal my family didn't enjoy. Though I do like it for an easy meal to put together if time is tight.

Baked Lemon Chicken with Mushroom Sauce
This recipe was good. I had to tweak the it some because my family doesn't really like the lemon flavor. I cooked the chicken in white wine and the extra chicken stock I didn't need for the mushroom sauce. The chicken was very flavorful and juicy. I will be making this again.

Herbed Scalloped Potatoes and Onions
My lactose intolerant husband loved these along with his family. I made these for the in laws and my father-in-law (who only eats to survive) couldn't get enough. These were a big hit and were easy on my family's digestion. I was a little worried about the mayo because no one likes it at my house, but it was a big hit defiantly worth the time they take. I did not change the recipe at all, which is rare. I will be adding this to my recipe rotation for sure.
