Bacon and Bourbon Thanksgiving Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2014
This recipe turned out to be some of the best stuffing I've ever had. The fact that it's home made from scratch makes it even better. In regards to the broth/bourbon, I only mixed together 1 Qt of broth and 1/2 cup bourbon and didn't use all of it and it turned out perfect. I also didn't add back ALL of the bacon grease. Delicious and highly recommend!

Dark Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2014
Moist and delicious!! I've found reading reviews is a must for this site. I followed the suggestion of using buttermilk instead of milk & delete vinegar and also used two 9" round pans. I used the choc cheese frosting recipe by Carol and used the "Expert Chocolate Mousse" recipe as filling. Unbelievably delicious and received many kudos! Great chocolate cake recipe!

Blueberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
Incredibly good!! I used Peggy Ellender's tips on cheesecake making and NO cracks, amazing crust, and followed recipe as is. Graham cracker crust is baked for 10 min. @ 350. Cool before pouring in cheesecake mixture. For cooking, I didn't try to wrap Springform pan w/foil, I put a cookie sheet with water in it on the bottom rack, and preheated to 350 (same as crust), turn to 250 soon as cheesecake goes in for 1.5 hrs. Turn off and leave in oven (door closed) for 3 hours for slow cooling. Refrigerate, then before serving, add blueberries. I used way more than 1/3 cup jelly! This is an AMAZINGLY good recipe and 3rd time I followed above. Store bought quality with ALL organic ingredients. MMMmmm MMM

Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2010
This was an incredible recipe, and turned out REALLY good!! I did make a few revisions, and it was still great! The amount of chicken was reduced to 4 breasts cubed, due to the large size and amount of chicken. I thought 1 Tbl spoon of salt was an awful lot, so didn't fill it up; and lastly, I only put 3 cut, minced cloves of garlic in w/the chicken. There were just two of us, and the amount this recipe made left plenty for another dinner or lunches for a few days.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Squares

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2010
Tastes great!! I followed other reviewers advice and went with a full bag of the Choc. chips (milk Choc.) and the add'tl 1/4 of Graham crackers. The bottom set up nice, but seemed awfully dry prior to putting into the fridge and was too crumbly upon cutting it up. Next time, I'll stick with the 1 1/2 cups of the graham cracker and see if it holds together better. Tastes very similar to Reeses.

Heavenly Halibut

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
I was set to be prepared for incredibly good tasting halibut with all the wonderful reviews, but was a little disappointed to have just mediocre halibut. It was cooked well, but tasted just 'ok'. Won't be using this one again... sorry.

Apple Crumble Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2010
This is a VERY easy recipe and I've gotten these compliments: "This is the best apple pie I've had in my entire life"; "You should enter contests with this recipe. You'd win" Awesome for me since this was the first time I'd ever made an apple pie! I use the "French Pastry Pie Crust" recipe on this site and use other reviewers suggestions of: instead of ALL white, use 1/4c Brown & 1/4c white; and add slightly less than 1/4 c flour to sprinkle over apples. I also substitute some brown for the crumble mixture. If you can increase the crumble, I recommend it. This is a quick, easy recipe that I guarantee you'll like.

French Pastry Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2010
I used this recipe, with one alteration, and it turned out great! Instead of shortening, I used butter, like another reviewer suggested. Incredibly easy! Another great suggestion was using clingwrap to roll the dough out on rather than drying it out with more flour. I used this crust all the time - even for a pot pie recipe - and it tastes great! I am a novice cook, so if I can do it, anyone can!!

Juiciest Hamburgers Ever

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2010
Since stores only sold 1.75 to 1.8 pound pkgs of the 80/20 hamburger, I decreased the amount of bread crumbs, which were the Panko Parmesan, to 1/2 cup. I then used the rest of the ingredients as normal and the burgers turned out awesome!! I don't get the negative reviews on this recipe, as I take being asked for the recipe by the person who shared these with me as a compliment... IOW - a double thumbs UP on this mix.

Oil Pie Crust

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2010
I couldn't even roll it out. Most likely, after reading the other 1 star review, there is way too much flour. However, I read that review too late to save ingredients. I'll have to try another recipe now or lose my apples.

Swiss Chicken Casserole II

Reviewed: May 29, 2009
This was really good - fast and easy to make. I don't cook using anything with trans-fats in it, so rather than use a stuffing mix, I melted the butter, added 1/2 tsp herb seasoning with a few sprinkles of paprika - stirred it, then added about 2C worth of diced bread; stirred until the bread soaked up all the butter, then put it onto the top of the mix. Turned out awesome!!
