About this Cook
I like to try new things, which lends itself well to either be delicious or a disaster, but it's still fun!
My favorite things to cook
Anything new is always fun because you never really know what it's going to taste like until it's done! The anticipation is killer! 90% of the meat I eat is chicken or turkey. I don't like cooking things that take a grocery list of ingredients or a lot of prep. time.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom is an excellent baker and ever since I was able to stand, she's let me help her in the kitchen when she was cooking or baking. I still love cooking with my mom, but we have to have a large kitchen to work in otherwise there's just too much going on!!!
My cooking triumphs
When I cook, I don't ever write anything down, so every time I make something it's never the same as the last time I had it. I love it. I go off of taste and smell while cooking and I can tweak things into what I want that day. If I want more sweet/savory/tart, I do it!
My cooking tragedies
Basically the same as above. Sometimes...things just don't work out how you thought they would and don't really taste all that great.

Teriyaki Chicken for the Busy Cook
This was really delicous. I used 2 pounds of chicken, a 20oz. bottle of orange soda and a bottle of teriyaki sauce (lower sodium) and cooked it on high for 5 hours in my slow cooker. I made fried rice with some of the excess liquid.

Jill's Hash Brown Casserole
I don't use onion or the corn flakes, but this is the best combination I've found for these potatoes!

Chunky Potato Soup
I used this as a base, but it came out delicious! Add crumbled bacon to the top!!!
