Being the oldest of seven, with two sets of twin boys, I learned to cook real early to help out. Wasn't my favorite chore growing up, but it beat hanging diapers outside.
My favorite things to cook
Just about anything. Dad's a great recipe tester.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving - turkey, dressing, cranberry salad, copper pennies, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, the pies, orange fluff, your know all the good stuff you don't serve all year except at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Why I don't know.
My cooking triumphs
I'm not sure I have any. If it's all consumed or asked for again, then it's a triumph!
My cooking tragedies
I hate to tell this one: I made fudge using salt instead of sugar. Mom had taken the canister she used for sugar and for some unknown reason had salt in it unbeknowst to me. What terrible fudge!
