French Butter Cakes (Madeleines)

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
Excellent! Just make sure not to over bake them. I used the mold for miniature madeleines, and found that in my oven, nine minutes produced the ideal result.

Italian Sausage Lasagna

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2011
My husband declared, "It's a keeper!" What I loved about it is not only is it delicious, but it's relatively easy to make, especially if you just pre-soak the lasagna noodles rather than boiling them. It's also nice to have a recipe that's well-sized for a couple, although it can be easily doubled or tripled.

MMMMM... Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2012
Wow! Loved the flavor and texture of these! Not too cakey, not too fudgy, these had just the right amount of chew for me. I was a bit worried when I put the eggs in (they started to cook) but with some aggressive beating they smoothed right out. This is a quick, easy recipe that I plan to keep!

E-Z Drop Biscuits

I was amazed by how fluffy and tender these were, especially given the simplicity of the recipe. It took very little time to prepare. My husband loved them!

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2009
A nice, light cookie, wonderful for fall. Because it had been described by some as too sweet, I used 1/2 cup white sugar, and 1/2 cup brown sugar. When I first tried it without the icing, it wasn't quite as sweet as I'd hoped, but with the icing, it was perfect. (BTW -- I halved the icing recipe, omitting the butter, but keeping the full teaspoon of vanilla. Worked out beautifully.) FYI -- With small ping-pong sized ice cream scooper (size 40), the stickiness of the dough is not a problem. Just scoop and place directly on to a parchment lined cookie sheet.

Southwestern Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
Excellent base recipe. Didn't use the tortilla strips, jicama, red beans, or bbq sauce. Did saute the chicken in taco seasoning and added cilantro. Still very satisfying. My husband declared, "This is a keeper!"

German Baby

Reviewed: May 28, 2009
LOVED IT! I cut the recipe by 1/3 (2 eggs, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup flour, 2 Tb butter) and baked in an ovenproof saute pan for 17 minutes at 400 degrees. It turned out PERFECTLY! Great presentation and flavor with very little effort.

Italian Bread Using a Bread Machine

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2012
I used this to make muffalettas for a party, and people raved about it! The bread was perfect for the sandwiches, soft enough to bite into easily but firm enough to bear the meats, cheeses and olive spread without falling apart. And with the help of the bread machine, it's super easy.

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Great texture, crisp at the edges, chewy inside. I added the 1/2 tsp cream of tartar and made it both with nuts and without. Good results all the way around.

Vanilla Crepes

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2009
Didn't sift, just threw all the ingredients in a blender (using whole eggs) and gave it a quick mix. Poured directly into a non-stick pan, swirled it a bit to make the batter spread thinly, and waited until the edges browned before turning over with a spatula. They turned out beautifully and tasted delicious! This is a very easy recipe. I would recommend it to anyone.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2013
Seriously, this is the PERFECT brownie recipe! It's exactly the type of brownie I love -- rich, chewy, fudgy, but not too sweet. Better yet, this recipe is delightfully easy to make with ingredient you tend to have on hand. With this, you'll never have to buy a box mix again.

Cinnamon Rolls II

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2012
When I opened the bread machine, the dough was distressingly sticky. It took quite a bit of extra flour to get it into workable condition, but I must say, the rolls baked up beautifully. The texture was remarkably soft and light.

David's Yellow Cake

Best yellow cake ever! Perfectly moist, light and fluffy. I substituted half a teaspoon of vanilla for the paste from one vanilla bean and it took it to a new level.
