Shrimp Scampi Bake

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2014
This was awesome! Will definitely make again! I did put Panko bread crumbs on top as others suggested. I did use all the butter listed in the recipe and didn't find it too much. It was the sauce! Will definitely make again!

Walter's Chicken and Mac

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2014
This was so easy and very yummy! I did add the suggestions others mentioned. Used 1 can of cheddar cheese soup instead of cream of chicken/mushroom and used mild shredded cheddar cheese. I added chopped onions and chopped celery and sauteed them with olive oil with the canned sliced mushrooms. Used 1 tsp. of garlic powder, 1 tsp. onion powder, salt & pepper, and red pepper flakes. Also using 2 handfuls of Panko bread crumbs made a nice touch. My stepkids even liked this! Thank you!

Mom's Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: May 21, 2014
This was excellent! I did the suggestions of others, such as salted the cucumbers and let them sit in a colander for an hour to get the water out of the cucumbers. I also did the suggestion of 1/2 c. of mayonnaise and 1/2 c. of sour cream. I did add a sweet onion, chopped loosely just because that is how my mom used to make it as well. LISAPAV thank you so much for the recipe!!

Baked Flounder with Panko and Parmesan

Reviewed: May 21, 2014
This was such a delicious recipe! Such a change of pace from basic recipes with broiling with lemon juice. I didn't have to even add lemon juice like I normally do with fish dishes! Panko and Parmesan cheese was a delight. Will definitely make it again!

Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2014
This was excellent! I did what others suggested and put it in 2 nine inch deep dish pie crusts. I wasn't able to find herb and garlic feta and just used plain feta and upped the amount of garlic used in the recipe. Also used sharp cheddar cheese rather than cheddar cheese. It was yummy!!!!! Would definitely make again.

Bacon and Blue Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2014
This was excellent! Was looking for a different way to make brussels sprouts and this was perfect! I did use a sweet onion vs. a red onion instead. Will make again!

Delicious Creamed Kale With Mushrooms

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2014
This was absolutely excellent!!!! True Italian way of eating kale and it made the house smell amazing! Was looking for a different way to eat kale and this is it. Will definitely make again. I submitted a photo of how mine turned out too. I did saute the kale longer as others suggested, instead of 5 minutes I did it about 8-9 minutes instead. Love it!!!

Orzo with Kale

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2014
This was okay. First time I ever used turmeric in my cooking and it added an unique flavor to the orzo. Wanted a different way to eat kale instead of eating it plain in a salad. This was a fun change.

Old Fashioned Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2014
This was excellent! I didn't use the processed cheese (Velveeta) that was suggested, instead I used American cheese and used sharp yellow cheddar cheese with the swiss cheese. Since we like a little heat added red pepper flakes and panko bread crumbs on top. Was a hit in my house and will make again!

Christmas Cookie Cut Outs

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2013
This was a delightful different cut out cookie recipe from the traditional sugar cookie cut out recipe. Loved the nutmeg and cinnamon taste. Great to dunk in your coffee or tea. Didn't even use the frosting suggestion, no need.

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2013
Made this at my Thanksgiving table this year. Very good and added per others' suggestion an eyeball amount of nutmeg, cinnamon and ground cloves. Some people at my table did find the topping of the casserole too sweet. Will eliminate next time the topping and maybe just add some small marshmallows.

Baked Corn

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2013
Huge hit in my household for Thanksgiving this year! I did use the suggestion of using the liquid in the can of whole-kernel corn to make the baked corn more moist. Will make this again!

New England Clam Chowder I

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2013
This was a hit with my fiance who adores clam chowder! I used bacon bits instead of slices of bacon diced. I also used suggestions of (1 tsp. of each) oregano and minced garlic (sauted with the onions in olive oil). In addition I also used the suggestion to thicken the soup with 2 tbsp. of flour mixed thoroughly with the clam juice and USED all of the clam juice with the cans, not partial. These helpful hints I used that made it great: Bring to boil the potatoes and such and cook COVERED for 20 MINUTES until potatoes are tender. AND after putting in the clams and clam liquid with flour allowed it to cook for 5 minutes to BOIL. Will make this again!

Perfect Turkey Gravy

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2013
Excellent recipe. Used turkey pan drippings instead of the broth and did not use the optional chopped turkey giblets. I did use as other suggested (1 tsp. of each) poultry seasoning, ground black pepper, seasoned salt and garlic powder. And added 1 tsp. of ground sage too. So creamy and yummy! Will use again! Hate non-thick turkey gravy, this was a huge hit at my table this year!

Lentil Curry Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2013
Honestly, I didn't realize that Curried Lentil soup and Lentil Curry soup were two different things, so I was a bit disappointed in the taste. Followed other's suggestions not to puree, used carrots instead of broccoli, and cooked orzo instead of cooked rice, just because of what was in my pantry. For me, needed more curry. Will find another recipe to more my liking with the taste all around.

Ratatouille Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2013
This was amazing!! I did follow some other ratings and added a few things. Added sauted onion and garlic in olive oil, added herbs de Provence, dried thyme and dried parsley. I also removed the skin of the zucchini and eggplant. Also did a trick I know with eggplant to get out the bitterness. Cut large slices, generously salted both sides and layered in a collander and covered with a wet paper towel for 15 minutes, then rinsed and cut into cubes. This will be a staple in my kitchen!!

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2013
Very good! I did some additions/alterations as others suggested and it was excellent. Sauted onions and add minced garlic in a pan with olive oil. Added 2-3 tsp of Worcestershire sauce. And added 2-3 tsp of Italian seasonings.
