Whole Wheat Seed Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2009
great recipe! I didnt have cracked wheat, or sunflower seeds so put in 1/4 cup chopped fine walnuts. I used 3/4 cup honey to 1/4 cup molasses. I added probably 2 to 2 1/2 cups more flour. I made it in my kitchen aid mixer..heavy duty one. I mixed it on Speed 2 until it just came away from sides. Also my flour was freshly ground whole wheat from the farmers market. This recipe is big! I got 12 buns, 1 10"round, 2 --9 1/2 x 5 1/2 loaves. The texture is light and the taste is lovely. I found my bread ready in 25 minutes. I used a thermometer to 200degrees. I think you could make this recipe in any shape.

Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2009
My kids loved this. I made nuggets from chicken tenders. Make sure you make this with a box stuffing you have tried and liked. I recommend Stove Top Stuffing. I used orange juice concentrate..still not too orangey. Grind the stuffing up fine. Use all of the butter..although I used a large cookie sheet.

OREO® Chocolate Cream Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2009
Definitely a cheesecake for chocolate lovers! A big hit with my girlfriends. I goofed and put the 20 oreos into the batter..it still came out fine but took a little longer to bake. A few observations, When you quarter the cookies, they fall apart, don't worry. If you leave the ingred out at room temp for an hour before, you avoid cracking. Run your knife around the edge immediately after it comes out of oven. Definitely will make this again and everyone wanted the recipe.

Joan's Famous Mondel Brodt

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
Everyone loved these. I used pecans and craisins and then left some plain, dipped some ends in chocolate and then drizzled some with chocolate. My loaves took 5 minutes longer to bake...i had them a little closer than 3 inches, maybe that's why. The dough is a little dry and crumbly with the stuff in it so to make your loaves...place a ball of dough onto plastic wrap and wrap losely like a burrito ,,then roll it to log shape and remove plastic

Blueberry Buckle

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2010
I thought this cake was excellent...moist and addicting! I had some buttermilk so I substituted that for the milk. I also doubled the recipe and put in a 9x13 pan....I kept the measurements for the topping the same and it was enough to cover the 9x13 with just enough sweetness.

Cod Curry

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2010
This was an easy healthy dish. I had everything but cilantro and cardamon....I will make it again using the full ingredient list since I questioned the amount of spices...thinking it needed more of everything and definitely a little more salt. Lots of wonderful juice and great over rice. I cut my cod into 2 inch rectangles from a full fillet. The fish was done in under the 15 min....I also think the spices would have come through more if I had had time to let it rest more.

Nutty Fresh Strawberry Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2010
This was very good. I didn't have strawberries so I used mango..also good. I think I might use a different vinegar next time...taste was good but hubby didn't like the strong cider odor. Maybe use white wine vinegar next time.

Farmer's Strata

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
made this for weekend company and it was great. I was a little shy with the salt because of the bacon/cheese/ham but it could have used a dash just as the recipe said. Mine was done in 1 hour...don't overcook.

London Broil I

this was pretty successful...my cut took 8 min on each side under the broiler for med rare...I put it back in for some who don't like it quite as rare. I marinated it for about 20 hours and would next time try and do it for 48 hours like some did. The flavor was good.
