OREO® Chocolate Cream Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2009
Definitely a cheesecake for chocolate lovers! A big hit with my girlfriends. I goofed and put the 20 oreos into the batter..it still came out fine but took a little longer to bake. A few observations, When you quarter the cookies, they fall apart, don't worry. If you leave the ingred out at room temp for an hour before, you avoid cracking. Run your knife around the edge immediately after it comes out of oven. Definitely will make this again and everyone wanted the recipe.

Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2009
My kids loved this. I made nuggets from chicken tenders. Make sure you make this with a box stuffing you have tried and liked. I recommend Stove Top Stuffing. I used orange juice concentrate..still not too orangey. Grind the stuffing up fine. Use all of the butter..although I used a large cookie sheet.

Whole Wheat Seed Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2009
great recipe! I didnt have cracked wheat, or sunflower seeds so put in 1/4 cup chopped fine walnuts. I used 3/4 cup honey to 1/4 cup molasses. I added probably 2 to 2 1/2 cups more flour. I made it in my kitchen aid mixer..heavy duty one. I mixed it on Speed 2 until it just came away from sides. Also my flour was freshly ground whole wheat from the farmers market. This recipe is big! I got 12 buns, 1 10"round, 2 --9 1/2 x 5 1/2 loaves. The texture is light and the taste is lovely. I found my bread ready in 25 minutes. I used a thermometer to 200degrees. I think you could make this recipe in any shape.

This salad was fantastic! Beautiful colors, sweet and crunchy. I used Balsamic vinegar and EVO since I didn't have the other and it was great.A great way to get some soy.

My family loved this! As much as the dumplings were so so easy...I think I'd make my own next time...I just don't like using pre packaged...but I'll tell you, they tasted great!

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
Everyone liked this. It was a great balance of savory and sweet...not overwhelming in sweetness like so many recipes I've tried. I knocked the sweetness down further by increasing the amount of sweet potato to 6-7 cups of cubed. I couldn't figure out how 4 cups would feed 12 people...not in my family anyway!

Applesauce Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
You won't believe how good this is. I would make it the day before instead of day of since mine was a little loose. The kids ate it with whipped cream during the week! It was really good with the meat.

The Best Ugly Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
I thought the turkey was good, not outstanding..the breast meat close to the top was still a little dry..I think I'd stick some butter under the breast next time. It wasn't too ugly and I carved it in the kitchen anyway.

Pierogi Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
This was a great casserole tried at Christmas and then served for New Years dinner party with some changes Changes are: increase potatoes to 8, mix sauted onions and bacon into potatoes. I seasoned with McCormick Grill Mates, Montreal Steak seasoning and eliminated the garlic. Get you potatoes the way you like them before you assemble..lots of taste. Then i just layered with the cheddar cheese but used swiss on the top final layer...it looks nicer. I made this up the morning of the party and baked it that evening and it was great. Keep it covered the whole time.

Overnight Cinnamon Rolls II

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
Great recipe..I make real from scratch cin rolls every year. This year I'm working and this was so much easier! I used butterscotch pudding as suggested and pecans instead of raisins. I used the bundt pan and the middle was too dough so I'll increase the time a little. I just drizzled some icing. Very good and easy recipe!

jack daniels sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
This is a great sauce...just make sure you have time to make it because it takes a good 35-45 min. Also use real Black Label Jack Daniels...not a time for the cheap stuff. I served it on roast pork and it was delicious.

Cracker Barrel Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
This was a good easy breakfast casserole. Don't salt this because the soup is salty enough. I'm not a cheese person so I think I'd like to try this with more onion and less cheese....You could definitely add cubbed ham to make more of an entree.

Ham Fried Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2009
This was a great way to use up left over pork. I just cubed it. Changes i made were: cook rice in low sodium chicken broth, adjust spices up a little after tasting, add a cup of cooked peas for color and serve with French's crispy fried onions sprinkled on top
