About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I tend to get involved in recipes that take a long time to make or are somewhat complex. Cooking is my therapy... my happy place. I love to eat what I prepare but I love making it more!
My favorite family cooking traditions
One tradition that I enjoy is Thanksgiving. My wife and I both enjoy the food we make. There is nothing like watching people enjoy the food that I made.
My cooking triumphs
I can often times become slightly obsessed with a particular dish such as a homemade tomatoe sauce. I have been able to create my own seafood chowder, tomatoe sauce, and chili through much experimentation (with the help from the recipes found here of course!)
My cooking tragedies
Baking is not my thing. I wish it were but I cannot seem to excel at it. Pizza is another tragedy but one that I plan to eventually be victorious with. I cannot find, adjust, or come up with a sauce that I love.... someday.

Steak Tip Marinade
My wife said it was good, I did not like this at all. I am giving it 3 stars because so many have loved it and I have seen mention of having the right dressing and the right BBQ sauce, maybe I didn't. Either way, I will not make again, I cannot see there being a big enough difference to make it worth trying again. It is very edible I've just had many better marinades. (cooked steak tips over charcoal - medium). I would recommend cutting the recipe in half and only marinate a few tips, to try it out the first time. If you like it, your in. If not you have saved the ingredients and the steak.

Alaska Salmon Bake with Pecan Crunch Coating
Great recipe! I was very impressed. I made the recipe as posted. I think my preference would be to go with 2 parts pecans to 1 part bread crumbs. Definately worth a try! Making it again next week!

Bay Scallop Chowder
This recipe is wonderful. Still very "chowder" like, with enough differences to make it very unique. The only changes I made were more scallop, potato, and carrot. Then when it comes time to blend, I only blend 2 cups and leave the rest as is. The egg yolk and cream is beautiful. Perfect in a bread bowl.... Thank you for sharing this recipe!!!!
