Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: May 24, 2009
I already had a pork shoulder roast, so I used that instead. Because it was so large (7 lb.), I need 2 bottles of root beer to cover the meat. Cooked it on high for three hours then 4 hours on low. After draining and shredding, I mixed in 1 bottle of BBQ sauce and had another on the side for those who wanted extra on their sandwiches. It was fabulous! Everyone loved it and the company asked for the recipe. Thanks!

Jay's Jerk Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2009
Fantastic! We eat a lot of grilled chicken at our house. Even so, my husband said this was the best marinated chicken he's ever tasted - this from a man who doesn't even like green onions! After reading previous reviews, I went with 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce, 2 jalapeno peppers, and added 2 cloves of garlic. My family was thrilled to find there is enough for leftovers tomorrow night. I'm thinking of putting it in a green salad.

Zucchini Alfredo

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2009
Loved it! I added about 12 chicken tenders, cut into bite size pieces, upped the garlic to 6 cloves and added 1/2 an onion. I used 3/8 tsp salt and 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper. Also used all 8 oz. of cream cheese. My family wants to try it again adding artichoke hearts and rosemary for a different flavor. Fabulous!

Fabulous! It was too hot to turn on the oven, so I did them on the stove top instead. Got raves from the family!

Alaska Salmon Bake with Pecan Crunch Coating

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2009
Fabulous! I have baked it in the oven as directed, and also wrapped it in heavy duty foil and put it on the grill. Both were incredible. This has become my family's favorite salmon recipe!

Six Threes Ice Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
Incredible flavor! I'm not a huge fan of bananas, but couldn't get enough of this! We had trouble eating just two helpings a piece. We'll definitely be making this again. Were already dreaming of nectarine, orange, and lemon, or perhaps crushed pineapple, orange and lime. We made 6 twos. Thanks to the viewer who mentioned 2 oranges gave 4 oz. of juice, and 2 lemons gave 3 oz. This was a great time saver as I used my carton of orange juice and bottle of Real Lemon juice!

Cinnamon Ice Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
This was really good. I'd read some other cinnamon ice cream recipes, and made one change. When heating the milk and sugar on the stove I included a 3-4 inch cinnamon stick. I left this in all through the cooking and cooling/refrigeration period, taking it out just before putting the mixture into the machine. I think it added a slight warmth to the after taste. Delicious!

Easy Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
Very refreshing! I used 1 tablespoon of the mint extract instead of the peppermint and vanilla. My husband likes his without chocolate, so we just added the chips to part of the ice cream after it was mixed in the machine, as we were pouring it into containers for the freezer.

Chile Garlic BBQ Salmon

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
Wonderful! I did double the chili sauce and use 2 tablesppons bottled lime juice instead of the juice and zest of 1 lime. Served it with rice and garlicy beets (from this site) and a green salad. My family is agruing over who gets the leftovers for lunch!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

These tasted great, but the dough was way too sticky. My mom has made the same recipe (minus the water) for years. Hers calls for refrigerating the dough at least an hour before baking.

Slow Cooker Fruit, Nuts, and Spice Oatmeal

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2009
Good flavor! I added 1/2 tsp salt, as oatmeal can sometimes taste rather flat without it. I used 1/4 cup orange juice to replace 1/4 a cup of the water. Next time I'd add 1/2 a cup more liquid, as that might prevent the burning around the edges. I also sprayed my crock as recommended. I will make this again!
