Simple Mexican Coleslaw

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2014
I made this exactly as written and found it to be bland. I added one teaspoon cumin, 2 chopped jalapeño peppers, seeds removed from one, the juice and zest of one lime.

Authentic Enchiladas Verdes

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2013
Doubled the sauce by others recommendations, used thighs because that's what I had on hand, and I baked them with cheese on top and the end results were so good I will never make another enchilada recipe again.

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2013
If your butter is at room temp and you cream together the sugar, butter, and egg before you add the other ingreadents you will never have a bit of trouble baking these. 8 minutes was the perfect time for mine. They are the best sugar cookie on the web. Simply awesome.

Deb's Cloverleaf Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2013
Wow, is all I can say. These rolls turned out to be the best Ive ever made, and Ive made a few. I used my Rival roaster oven and mixer with the dough hooks. I wound up making 4 batches to hand out to the homeless with hot turkey soup for Thanksgiving tomorrow. Simple, easy and very cheap to make, but most of all tasty! Thanks for sharing this. You rock!!

Bloody Broken Glass Cupcakes

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2013
I made these as a last minute thing for my husband to take to work. They are simple to make if you can make a cupcake, you can make these. I made the glass a little different. I used the basic hard candy recipe, 2cups white sugar, 2/3 cup light corn syrup, 3/4 cup of water. Stir it till it is combined on medium heat, when to starts to slow boil, do not touch it again. When it hits the hard crack stage of 300, I removed it from the heat, added one dram of cinnamon oil, if you use cinnamon oil, be sure to open a window and step back when you add it at the end of the cooking process. Stir it well into the candy and then pour the candy onto slightly sprayed aluminum foil. Let it cool and break. If you don't have a candy thermometer just put a piece of ice into a glass of water. When you drizzle some syrup in, if it hardens right away, your candy is done. Every stove is different, but my candy took about 40 minutes. Do it slowly, and it will never fail you.

San Francisco Sourdough Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2013
I had to use 2 cups of starter to get it to pull together, other than that it turned out great. I did omit the onion because true sourdough bread has none. The flavor was excellent. Those people who have said that it did not have a true sourdough flavor should blame their starter not the recipe. If you are working with a young starter, it is not going to have the deep sourdough flavor. My starter is over 25 years old so I found exactly what I was looking for with this recipe. Thanks for sharing, it is a great recipe.

I added some celery, carrots and onions because that's the way I like these type of dishes. That being said this came out great. It is one of those things that I crave from time to time so I make it a few times a year. It is quick and easy and delicious. What more could you ask for??

General Tsao's Chicken II

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2013
I made this and it was so marvelous that I took a sample to the owner/chef of the Chinese restaurant I have been ordering this out from for the past 7 years. The chef tasted it and is now using this recipe. That was a win-win! I can now have it when I want it and I don't have to clean my kitchen up. Thanks for posting this!

Pineapple Upside Down Cupcakes

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2013
I've made these two ways now. The first time I followed the recipe exactly and they came out simply awesome. The next time I made these I saved the juice from the cherries and used it along with the juice from the new jar in place of the pineapple juice. Since I had to use a little water to make up the 1 1/3 cup of liquid it calls for I also used 1/2 teaspoon of cherry oil. They came out equally as delicious. This is a great recipe with many possibilities. Thanks for sharing.

Sweetheart Cupcakes

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2013
I made these with the classic white cake mix and added a dram bottle of Raspberry to the pink and red. I started out making cupcakes but after cutting one open and tasting it, I wound up using them for raspberry shortcakes. I cut them in two and put berries and homemade whipped cram on them. I tinted the cream red hot red. I heard several times how they were to pretty to eat, yet no one seemed to have a problem eating them. One cake mix made 12. After you get your cupcakes ready to go into the oven, if you will give your pan a few taps on the counter top, it will eliminate any air pockets you might have from inserting the colored batter into the center. This is an awesome recipe, I will be making it again and again. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Runzas

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2013
These. Were. AWESOME! The only thing I did differently was use 2 teaspoons of salt and 1 tablespoon of caraway seed, because I love caraway with cabbage, it might not be for everyone. I also brushed them with an egg wash. If you have never tried these, this in my opinion is the recipe you are going to want to use. A good stone ground mustard goes excellent with these.
