Jack's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2015
I followed the recipe as written the first time and added a little cream of tarter the second time. About an 8th of a teaspoon. They turned out "cracked" a bit more with the cream of tarter. I will add it from now on.

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2015
I made these as written with the exception for needing more flour. I had to add half a cup more, but check your dough before you do because you might not need to. I also had to bake them about 12 minutes, but that's might just be the way my oven bakes, it's propane. All and all these cookies are the ones I will go to when I'm looking for a chocolate chip cookie. Awesome job on the recipe.mthanks for sharing!

Easter Eggs

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2015
I followed someone else's advise and put toothpicks in the end of them before freezing. Just about half way in did the trick. When you put the toothpick in and pick the egg up by it to set it on the tray, you can tell if its in good enough and adjust it a bit from there. I used cherry extract, no coconut, and after I dipped them in chocolate I gave them a good sprinkling of finely chopped peanuts. Then I made the mistake of passing them out to the neighbors. I finally resolved that issue by making another batch and enclosing this recipe. Yeah, these are just that good.

Banana Peanut Butter Cheesecake aka "The Elvis"

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2015
I made the recipe as written with the exception of the crust. The first cheesecake I used nutter butter peanut butter cookies, tossed them into the food processor, made an excellent crust. The next cheesecake I made with an Oreo cookie crust. Anyway you go with this, you can't go wrong.

Uli's Apple Red Cabbage

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2015
This is one of those recipes that everyone should have or at least know about. I had some cabbage and apples I wanted to use and came across this recipe. I had everything on hand so why not? Today was the first time in the 21 years I've been with my husband that he ate the veggies before the meat and then ate more veggies with the meat. Awesome. Thanks for sharing.

Easy Breaded Shrimp

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2015
I have never, ever had any kind of luck with coating and frying shrimp. I have a million great ways to prepare them other wise but not one single way to bread them and fry them till now. I used the 8 to 10 count and added some Cajun seasonings. Not only did they hold together, the crunch was there just how we like them.

Mashed Potatoes with Horseradish

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2015
I made these to go with a pot roast. I did use fresh ground horseradish, cause that's the way I roll. If you are thinking about trying these, give it a shot. you'll be glad you did.

Hawaiian Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2015
I was looking for a last minute cake recipe using what I had on hand. I had chunked pineapple and no cherries, but the cake still turned out fabulous. I used my cast iron baking skillet. This is a keeper. Thanks for sharing.

Wow! Sweet and Sour Sauce

If your looking for the sweet and sour sauce found in every mom and pop take out, this is the one to try. This recipe makes a lot. I put the leftovers into a clean pickle jar and it kept nice on the fridge door for 2 weeks until I used it.

English Toffee

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2014
I made this and followed direction as written. The only thing is that it really takes longer than 20 minutes to make. It took me 30 to get the right boil on the syrup. Remember when making this type of candy low and slow is the way you will want to bring the syrup up to tempature.

Marinara Sauce II

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2014
I oven slow roasted tomatoes I had on hand that needed something down with them. I put olive oil, chopped garlic and a sprinkle of sugar to help them caramelize a little bit. I also used fresh basil and oregano. So I can't rate the recipe on how it is written, only how it turned out.

Chili I

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2014
It kind of reminds me of Wendy's chili. If you want some chili and want it fast and cheap this is the only recipe you will ever need. I did add hot peppers a couple of times for an added kick. If you make it a couple of days in advance and then slowly reheat it up on the stove, it is even better.

Made this exactly as written. Simple to make, tastes like a lot of thought and time went into it. I will ever make another type of cole slaw.
