Chocolate Cornstarch Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2013
Excellent, simple chocolate pudding recipe. Just as easy as using a boxed mix, and much tastier. As another reviewer mentioned, mixing the dry ingredients and ensuring there are no lumps, before stirring in the milk, is key to a smooth pudding. The pudding does become quite firm, but we like it this way.

Cinnamon Pretzels

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2013
This is a great recipe for non-bakers. I specifically chose it because it was simple and didn't require a ton of prep time. The dough came together well and the pretzels were great, I did season the dough, with cinnamon, salt, allspice and tumeric, based on another review. I also used powered sugar, rather than regular sugar to turn the topping into more of a glaze. I'll definitely make these again.

Campbell's Kitchen Beef Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2012
Really easy basic recipe that takes just a few minutes to make. Just what I was looking for since this was my first stir fry. I used broccoli and squash as my veggies. Will definitely make this again but will likely spice it up a bit with some ginger or red pepper flakes.

Killer Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
This pie is amazing! I chose this recipe because it is dairy free and because of the easy-sounding pie crust. I was a little worried because it just seemed too easy, but happily I was wrong. It turned out excellent, no one could tell it was any different than a traditional pumpkin pie, and it was the first thing to go at our Thanksgiving dinner. This is my new go-to recipe!

Apple Betty

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
Wow! This is a great alternative to a pie and ridiculously easy to make. I was worried about how it would taste since its so simple, but it was great. I made it the day before and reheated it in the oven for a Thanksgiving desert. I used granny smith apples. As others have noted, I thought the crumble was a tad sweet and will use less sugar the next time I make it, but won't change a thing otherwise.

Lazy-Day Cranberry Relish

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
Excellent, and best of all, super easy! Just throw everything in the crock pot and you're done. Perfect for a hectic Thanksgiving day. My family enjoyed this recipe more then the jalapeƱo-flavored cranberries I made last year, although I thought that recipe was pretty good, too.

Candy Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
I thought I followed the recipe exactly, but I must have made a mistake somewhere. These tasted good, but didn't turn crispy, even after baking longer and letting them dry completely. I'll probably try a different recipe next time.

Carrot Apple Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
Very good. Fresh tasting and not too sweet. I used granny smith apples, and had to substitute because I didn't have all the ingredients: used only plain yogurt, orange instead of lemon juice, and no coconut. I made this for thanksgiving to use up the leftover carrots and apples in my fridge. Also made for a pretty presentation with all the different colors.

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2011
Very good basic recipe. Perfect for the beginning cook, such as myself. Ill definitely be making this again. Next time I'll use a tad less vanilla extract, as I thought the vanilla flavor was a little overpowering (my only complaint).

Vinegar Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2011
Simple, simple recipe and always a hit! I make these with vegan butter since my daughter is allergic to dairy, and add a little cinnamon and clove.

Vegan Cupcakes

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2011
Extremely simple recipe, which is great for the novice baker like me! I made the first batch for my daughter's 2nd Birthday. They turned out great and nobody realized they were vegan. I subbed applesauce for half the oil in one batch and almond oil for coconut oil in another, and added cinnamon and clove to make spice cupcakes. I also usually use 1/2 the amount of sugar called for, because i dont like really sweet cakes. This recipe lends itself well to substitutions and variations.

Chocolate Zucchini Cake III

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2010
This is the first cake I ever made from scratch. I made it for my boyfriend's birthday, for a finicky group of eaters. They realized there was something different in it, but no one guessed it was zucchini. It turned out great; very moist and flavorful, and I feel good that it's at least a little healthier than the typical chocolate cake.
