Sweet Cornbread Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2015
This was AMAZING!!! Best cornbread I've ever had! Only changes I made were: 1-1/4 C sugar instead of 1-1/3, I used 2% milk instead of whole, and I added 1 tsp vanilla. My whole family loved it, and I will definitely be making it again. Thanks for the recipe!

This was my first time making lemonade and it was AMAZING!!! I've been making it nonstop now!! I do cheat a little by using store bought lemon juice.

Easy No Bake Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2011
Followed the directions and came out wonderful!! We used cheesecake flavored pudding mix and loved it! I think next time I will cut back on the sugar a little bit though. They did come out gooey and sticky, but we loved them that way!!! Definitely need to store these in the fridge!!

David's Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2011
WOW!!! What an AMAZING recipe!!! This was the yummiest cake I have ever had! We ate it so fast that I didn't even get to put frosting on it! This cake is so light, fluffy, moist and is so flavorful. I don't see how people are having problems with this.... as long as you carefully follow directions and measure properly it comes out wonderful! I've made it both as cupcakes (bake for only 20 minutes) and a cake and it has come out delicious both ways! Have not made one change, this recipe is perfect as is!!! Thanks so much!

Rosemary Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
My grandmother used to make wonderful chicken & noodles and since she passed away I have never been able to get it quite right.... but thanks to you I FINALLY got it!!! With a little tweaking this tastes just like hers did! Some changes I made: 7 C water, 2 C chicken broth, omitted the carrots, used extra wide egg noodles, and cut back on the rosemary and added some Italian seasoning. Also had to add a bunch of salt (and I am not a salt fan at all). I'm giving you 5 stars because without you it would have taken me much longer to nail her recipe... thanks so much!

Cool Whipped Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2010
Love this so much! I can't stand traditional frosting (too sweet for me), so this was perfect! Also like how versatile it can be.... you can make a ton of different flavors with it, or easily make it sugar-free! This first time I made it I put it on pumpkin cheesecake bars and it was perfect for them!

Laura's Unbelievable Chicken and Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2010
This is a pretty good starter for an amazing dish, but alone... not really so much. I had to doctor this up A LOT, and it was still missing something. Also, the sauce was way too thin, it just runs to the bottom of the bowl and doesn't really cling on to anything. Some changes I made: Used less spinach - I added about 7 oz and then realized the whol package would have been waaaaay too much for our likings. We like spinach, but that would have just overpowered the dish. Added fresh mushrooms, garlic, onion, salt and pepper, and a few more of the tomatoes. After all of that ,it still seemed kinda bland. I think the next time I make it I might add more cream cheese to help with the flavor and hopefully to thicken things up a bit. Thanks for the recipe!

Buffy's Refried Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2010
These were super bland to us, although I do love how EASY they were to make!!! I used butter flavored shortening instead of the lard and added: 1 Tbs. salt, 1 tsp. pepper, 1/2 tsp. garlic powder and 1/8 tsp. cumin. We loved them doctored up and will probably never buy canned refried beans again!

Pizza Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2010
This was a good base, but I did doctor it up a bit for our likings.... I used 1 Lb. rotini, did 1/2 Lb. Italian sausage with about 3/4 Lb. ground beef, cooked the pepperoni (also cut all the pieces in half) with the ground beef and added a 15 oz. can of tomato sauce to the spaghetti sauce (used Bertolli 5 cheese). Also, I pulled this out at 25 minutes and it was a little too done... I think 20-22 minutes would do the trick. I couldn't imagine how it would have been if I had left it in the 30 minutes, it would have been completely burned! We like it a lot, but might try to layer the pasts mixture and cheese next time... kinda like a pizza lasagna. Thanks for sharing this recipe!!

Aw-some Coleslaw

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
Made this for a Mother's Day barbecue and everyone loved it! Tasted great! Dressing is a little too runny though... I'll probably use a little less milk next time. Other than that, I used bagged cole slaw mix and omitted the onions. Does taste a lot like KFC's slaw!! Thanks for the recipe!!!

Springfield Style Cashew Chicken II

Reviewed: May 8, 2010
I have lived in Springfield pretty much all of my life, and this recipe is GREAT!!! I did make a few changes though, after seeing people thought it was too salty (I can't stand salty stuff!!). I used low sodium chicken bouillon cubes, I omitted the salt the recipe called for, and used 1 Lb. of chicken... and it turned out wonderful!!! My husband and I thought it was perfect! Thanks for the recipe! I will definitely make this again!!!

Kitty Litter Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2009
LOVE this cake!! Very moist and fun to make! My kids love helping me make this and think Mommy makes the coolest cake ever. When I make this I either use French vanilla or cheese cake pudding and just regular chocolate and yellow cake mixes. Made this for a friend and on request used white and lemon cake mixes and it was delicious as well. Entered this cake in an Ugly Cake Contest and won!!! So it is now officially an award winning cake!
