Dee's Sexy, Spicy, Shrimp, Sausage, and Peppers

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2010
This was tasty, but I wouldn't make the shrimp and the sausage sepereate dishes. Don't get me wrong this was good, but I thought it would wow me more than it did. I would make again just mix the shrimp in to the sausage mixture at the end. There is a LOT more shrimp to sausage ratio if you only use a half lb of frozen shrimp.

Asian Style Country Ribs

Reviewed: May 7, 2010
Very tender and delicious. I marinated overnight, but instead of discarding the marinade I just cooked it with it. Very good just the right amount of heat for those that can't handle a lot of heat. THe only change I made was to use a little less sesame oil because I don't like it as much and used garlic and ginger powder. YUMMMY!!

Grandmother's Pork Chop Dinner

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
I followed the recipe except added some chopped carrots. This was good, but I will make some changes next time I make it because it ended up reallly greasy. Next time I will crisp the bacon then set to the side and discard some of the grease. Add pork chops and brown on each side before adding the potatoes, carrots and onion, the potatoes were a little mushy. Very easy, leave it and forget it until it's done!!!! Thanks for sharing.

Grilled Zucchini Pizza

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
Yummy! I really liked these. I baked them instead of grilling. I sliced the zucchini and my daughter topped with sauce, pepperoni and cheese and threw them in the oven until cheese melted and zucchini was tender. I ate everyone of these!!

Slow Cooker Cassoulet

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2010
The whole family really enjoyed this for dinner last night. I subbed chicken broth for the white wine. I used canned navy beans, they kind of dissapeared while it was cooking. The chicken and sausage was so good!! I served with mashed potatoes on the side. This would be good ontop of egg noodles too. I will def. make this again!!!

Quick Garlic Breadsticks

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
This is a great way to use up hot dog buns, I can't believe I never thought about doing this before!! I really liked these not only because they were super easy, but they tasted great too. The only change I made was to use shredded colby-mont. jack cheese. Will make again anytime I need to use up some hot dog buns.

Creamy Chicken Enchiladas Verde

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2011
These enchiladas were delicious!!! I used garlic powder inplace of the minced garlic. I also "charred" my tortillas over an open flame before filling them. Yumm Yumm Yumm!! Very simple to make, I used 2 large frozen chicken breasts that I boiled in seasoned water then shredded.

Make-Ahead Baked Egg Sandwiches

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2010
These were SO good!!! I made them at night and wrapped them in plastic wrap, put them in the fridge and took one to work. I microwaved it at work for one minute and it was SOOO good. They must have been really good because when I came back from work to freeze a couple, they were all gone!! The eggs took a little longer than 8-10 minutes and I added salt and pepper to them. These were so easy to make I will be making them often!!!

Sesame Asian Tofu Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2011
I thought this was a great way to use tofu. I didn't have that much soy sauce so I subbed teriyaki!! I used the rooster hot sauce in place of the thai chili sauce and shredded cabbage in place of the bean sprouts ( the bean sprouts were super brown at the store and didn't look good at all). I didn't shred my carrots just super finely diced them. I really liked this!!

Shrimp Creole

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2010
This is a very good and quick shrimp dinner. Instead of two cans of tomato sauce I used one seasoned with basil, oregano and garlic and a can of diced tomatoes with their juices. I was being lazy and didn't feel like chopping onions or peppers so I used a bag of frozen onion and three peppers blend. I also threw in some diced chipotle peppers in adobo sauce for some heat. Thanks for the great recipe!

Vegetarian Stuffed Poblano Peppers

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2009
These were really good. I didn't make them vegetarian, I used real ground hamburger. I didn't have pepper jack cheese so I just used a colby-mont. jack blend. I will be making these again!! I wanted more after they were gone.

5-Minute Guacamole

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2010
I'm not sure this took even 5 minutes! I juse used a fork to mash the avocado because I like mine a little chunkier. I used this in steak fajitas so it worked perfectly!

Mexican Caviar

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2010
Made this to take for my lunch at work. I only had half a can of black olives and I used a can of diced tomatoes with chile peppers because I didn't have those ingredients seperate. I didn't have tarragon vinegar so I used red wine vinegar. Great snack to keep me going at work.

Moo Goo Gai Pan II

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
This turned out verrrry good, I was scared to be the first to try it but I am glad that I did. My grandma always orders moo goo gai pan when we eat out at chinese, so I wanted to try this recipe out and hopefully surprise her one day! I think she will be happily surprised with this one! I did change the veggies up a little bit to my liking and how it's served at our local chinese place. I added a head of broccoli and a can of stir fry corn. I left out the bok choy and used bamboo shoots in place of the water chestnuts. I used frozen peas and they worked just fine. For the sauce I did use powdered ginger and a little more than 1/2 cup of chicken broth. I had some cooking white wine that I've had forever but it didn't seem to ruin anything. I added about 1 tbls of soy sauce just because, not really sure why. Me and my mom both enjoyed this, will make again. Thanks for the great recipe.

Brown Spanish Rice

Reviewed: May 29, 2012
This was very good! I only had boil a bag brown rice, so I had to use that. I just boiled it in water like the box said to, then I brought the can of diced tomatoes (mine had jalapenos instead of green chiles) almost to a boil with some diced onion and green pepper ( I always add that to my spanish or mexican rice) and then added the bag of rice. Turned out delish! Will be making this way from now on!

Little Smokies

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2009
I did forget to add the onion to these smokies, and used a little less of all the other ingredients called for. Turned out great, made them on the stove top because I had the meatballs in my one and only crock pot!
