Chocolate Malted Ice Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2011
This recipe is very good if you double the chocolate malt powder. Otherwise there will not be enough chocolate flavor. I didn't have enough whipping cream so I used half light cream. I can stop looking for a good chocolate ice cream recipe now. My husband liked the crushed milk balls added in but I didn't.

Frozen Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2011
This does not taste quite the same as the real thing but close enough. If they are dry and crumbly you added too much flour. The right way to measure it is to fluff it up with a spoon and use that spoon to fill the cup. Never dip a cup into the flour and then tap it to add more. That is too much. If you really want to know how much more you're adding weigh it sometime. 1 cup of all purpose flour should weigh about 4.5 oz. Other kinds of flour are different. Also adding bit of salt to this recipe is a good idea.

Quick Jambalaya

My husband liked this very much. I did have to add a small can of tomato sauce to give it a bit more juice. I liked the flavors overall even though I'm not a big fan of smoked sausage. The next time I make it I'll add more shrimp and maybe chicken. It's more like 4 1/2 stars.

Dutch Apple Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2009
I agree with lawavediva who said this is way too tart. I have been baking for almost 50 years and know most people like a sweet apple pie. I would also use brown sugar for the topping. There are better recipes out there.

Blue Cheese Bites

I made these for the family yesterday with one change. After seeing recipes like it in other blogs and sites I only used 1/4 cup of butter. That was just right. They went like hotcakes.

Aunt Hazel's Apple Oatmeal Cookies

They are moist but the oats are too too heavy and chewy. The flavor is not as good as I hoped even with the raisins I added. I'm not going to make them again.

Ham and Cheese Puffs

After making it the way it was written I tried a variation. We wanted a bit more flavor so I used chopped pepperoni, italian spices and some hot sauce. That way it was good and I'll keep trying different combinations. It's a good recipe to play with and add what you like.
