About this Cook
I recently made the move here to Lincoln, Ne due to the fact that I was recently married on March 21,2009. I have always enjoyed cooking and like to try new recipes from time to time. I also have 4 grown children all living in Colorado.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Both of my parents were 100% Danish so I was influenced by that quite a bit. My mother used to make a Danish Fruit Soup that was wonderful. It was made from Elderberries and she also made white dumplings to add.

Basic Ham and Bean Soup
I have made this soup about 4 times now and it's the best. So flavorful. This one is a keeper and great for a cold winter weekend

Easy Granola Bars
These are WONDERFUL. We have a 17 year old here at the house and he loves to grab a couple of granola bars for breakfast. We decided to make these to see if he might like something a little healthier for him. It turned out that he loves them and he's picky about his granola bars too. We have made 2 batches of them so far and the only thing we did differently on the second batch was to add 1/3 cup of wheat bran and extra cranberries plus 1 tbs extra butter. We use our Ninja to chop up the cranberries, chocolate chips and almonds and that works perfectly. Wait till you try them. mmmmmm
