Grandma's Green Bean Casserole
This recipe turned out great, but I made a LOT of changes based on the reviews. I used more onion (1/2 of an onion) and sauteed it and some minced garlic in the butter before adding the flour. I omitted the sugar because I didn't see the point of it and also added a little extra salt, plus some pepper and Worcestshire sauce. I cut the sour cream down to 1/2 cup and mixed 1 cup of cheese in with the green beans, then only used 1/2 cup of cheese on the top. Next time I might also try using fresh steamed green beans (but the canned tasted just fine). I think mushrooms would have been really yummy as well. The way I made it was delicious. I love the IDEA of this recipe (I was trying to get away from the creamed soup and canned onions), but it needed some work.

Chewy Granola Bars
I made these tonight and they turned out great! They aren't very much like the store-bought kind, but I actually like them much better. I took these suggestions from other reviewers: Add more honey (after the original measurement, I just kind of poured it in until the dough seemed properly moist), and replace some of the oats with Rice Krispies cereal (I did 1 cup which seemed to be a pretty good amount). I also used about half mini chocolate chips, half peanut butter chips. It's good that way but not overwhelmingly so; I probably wouldn't do it that way next time (I just wanted to use up my PB chips). I also liked the pan with foil which made it easy to remove the bars. Great recipe! I bet you could put almost anything in them.

Mom's Quick Pasta Sauce
I've done so many things with this recipe1 I've never used the soup mix, just real onion. The first couple times I made it more or less exact, and this last time I changed the whole thing and put in chicken instead of beef (an interesting choice, I know, but I didn't have anmy beef), added tons of veggies, put in two whole cans of tomato paste and some extra water. You just can't mess it up!
