Chunky Tomato Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2005
This is one of the best soup recipes I have ever made! I have been searching for a recipe like this, we have a local restaurant that serves a baked tomato soup with veggies in it that is out of this world, and this is the closest I've ever come to recreating it. I changed a few things, I used a 28oz can of tomatoes, and pureed them before adding them to the soup. I also omitted the celery, as we don't prefer it. I added grated parmesan cheese on top, but am going to try feta cheese next time. Thanks so much for sharing this!

Hot Fudge Ice Cream Bar Dessert

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2003
I made this for company and served it to 8 kids...they all LOVED it!!! (which is an absolute miracle because my kids are extremely picky) I have already been asked for the recipe twice!! The only thing I will do different next time is put the chocolate sauce on first and then the Cool Whip, as I found that it made a big mushy mess on top when I tried it the other way. 5 stars for this recipe!

Chocolate Caramel Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2004
This cheesecake was absolutely delicious!! The caramel layer was not hard, as some "turtle" type cheesecakes get, I followed the recipe exactly, making sure the ingredients were at room temperature. I baked in a 325 oven for exactly 50 mins. with a 9" cake pan full of hot, boiled water on the oven rack beneath the rack the cheesecake was on. The cheesecake had a 2-3" wobbly circle, in the centre at this point. I turned my oven off, cracked the door open and left it for a good 4-5 hours until it was completely cool. It set up beautifully, with NO cracks. I then transferred it to the fridge, and decorated it the next day with sweetened whipped cream that I had added some whip cream stabilizer to. I also sprinkled the piped cream with some chopped pecans, and added a cherry on top of each dollop of cream. To cut, I ran hot water on the knife, and wiped it off between each cut. It cut beautifully!! I served it with some Smucker's caramel sauce. Delish!! My sil absolutely loved it!! (i made it for her 40th b-day)

Gordo's Good Venison

Reviewed: May 20, 2003
This was an AWESOME recipe, especially for those who are not too sure they "love" venison...my extremely picky 9 year old had about 5 helpings of this! I cut up a deer roast into thick steaks and marinated for about 2 hours. Next time I will marinate longer, but it completely removed the "wild" taste from the meat. Perfect for me!!! I now don't mind my hubby coming home with alot of deer meat...

Allison's Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2003
I doubled this salad, and left out the grapes and ham (I didn't have any) and added cut up cucumber, and red pepper. I also shredded my cheese instead of cubing it. It was delicious, although I don't think I will ever add grapes to it, doesn't seem like it would fit with the salad. I think that salmon or tuna would compliment the dill, though. It was very good, stayed relatively moist. I will definately make this again!

Taste of Home's Hearty Ham Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2003
This was a tasty way to use up leftover ham. For a time saver I just threw in a can of Cream of Mushroom soup instead of making the sauce from scratch, and omitted the corn, adding diced carrots & onions instead. I would definately make this again.

White Chocolate Macadamia Creme Brulee

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2012
This would not set up for me, even though I baked it for an extra 15 minutes or so...we also found it very sweet. I usually read all the reviews before I make a recipe, and I wish I had this time...someone had suggested adding 2 more egg yolks to it to help it set up. I have tried other creme brulee recipes and had wonderful success...so I'm not sure what I did wrong this time.

Creme Brulee

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2012
This was an excellent recipe when following the recommendations by CHEFPEON. Not too sweet, a very nice dessert. I used white sugar on top instead of brown and liked it very much.

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2003
This was an easy and delicious recipe! So fresh tasting, after what you buy in the store. I took it to a baby shower, and got raves over it. Everyone was so impressed that I had made it myself, and I was asked for the recipe several times. Thanks Sandy!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2004
If there were a 10 star rating, these cookies would get it! I have been searching for the Ultimate chocolate chip cookies for a long time now, these are the best I've ever had. They turn out HUGE, are very chewy and chocolatey. I have also made them with butterscotch chips, and plan on making them with mini-m & m's. DON'T make these if you're on diet, you won't be able to stop yourself from eating them!!
