Apple Crisp IV

This is the best crisp I have ever made, and it comes very close to to Mom & Dad's. I used Cardamon, Vanilla and Cinnamon in the topping, mixed 1/4 of it with the apples and put the on top. It took a bit too long for the apples to cook through so I might try pre-cooking them so that the crumble wasn't quite so hard. A little milk took care of that and it probably would have been even better the next day.

Peach Pie the Old Fashioned Two Crust Way

Baked Oatmeal Squares

I couldn't believe how tasty these were. They were so simple and needed so few ingredients, I wasn't expecting them to be as good as they were. Everyone who tried them was just as surprised definitely a go to recipe for those unexpected guests.

Lemon-Raspberry Muffins

Loved these muffins. I used frozen raspberries from my parents garden and the cake part was light, not too sweet and enhanced the flavour of the berries. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

These were delicious and quick. I used Cardamon instead of nutmeg, only because I was out of nutmeg...so instead of a donut they reminded me of an Indian sweet.

Jif® Peanut Butter and Jelly Cookies

The best peanut butter cookie recipe I've found. Not too dry, not too hard, not too sweet and easy to make. I used coconut milk because I found out someone had finished the milk without telling anyone and they were still perfect! I used the spiced strawberry jam from this site, it added that extra something that makes something special. Thanks for sharing...I recommend this site, not only for the recipes but for the tips and ideas. What a great resource.

I used yams in place of the pumpkin and it was delicious, I do this all the time rather than use the canned pumpkin and using fresh pumpkin is rather daunting.

Sweet and Sour Chutney

I was expecting to add corn starch but found that leaving it on medium low for half an hour stirring occasionally it was perfect. I found it slightly mild (heat wise) for my taste, so I added 1/4 cup liquid from a jar of hot banana peppers. Also, after it was cooked but need to reduce longer I strained it to get rid of any lumps of tamarind skin, coriander seeds, cloves, cinnamon bark etc.. It has been a big hit with everyone.

Valentino's Pizza Crust

Very simple, delicious recipe. Sprinkled sesame seed on the counter and placed the dough on top, using oiled hands I made a 6" diameter round (I have a pizza pan with the holes, if I had a stone or a solid pan this could be done on it). I used white cheddar, garlic, hot banana pepper and mango for the topping, it was excellent and the hour it took to put together was no longer than it takes the local pizza place to deliver. Thank you! added July 2010...the second time it was better than the first, especially the crust, simple, light and delicious.

Gooey Butter Cake IV

I had never baked, or eaten anything like this "cake" before so I had no expectations. I love it and so does everyone who has had some. I had ghee (clarified butter) on hand so I used that in the "goo" the third time and what a wonderful flavor. Thank-you for a wonderful addition to my "something special" collection.
