Pizzelles I

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2013
Very simple recipe. I've been looking for one that makes them more on the crisp side rather than the soft and this is perfect. I cut the recipe down to 10 servings rather than 30. I made about 40 pizzelles with it so that was plenty for me. I used vanilla because I didn't have any anise on hand. Actually used it for smores so it can be a great sandwich cookie but you must be careful as they can be brittle when putting together.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2013
This recipe could not be more simple and easy. It's very sweet and with a nice chewy texture. I have always had problems in the past making brownies but this time they were perfect. Definitely making this my go to brownie recipe. :)

Quick and Almost-Professional Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2013
Turned out perfect. Great consistency. I did end up doubling the recipe based on suggestions from other reviewers. I used it on a 9x13 cake and had a little extra leftover. Will use this recipe again! :)

Building Gingerbread

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2012
Worked out well. Very tasty yet crunchy. But for it's purpose, very sturdy. Good frosting too. I made sure it got more stiff by adding more powdered sugar because it held better.

Bodacious Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2012
When I told my husband the name of this recipe he was not terribly interested in eating it, however after eating it he enjoyed it. The kids even enjoyed it. They are 2 and 6. I made some adjustments based on what I had like using a yellow onion and rice vinegar. I also just cubed about a cup a cheese and it seemed to be plenty. I only added a couple dashes of pepper. Other than cooking the bacon, this is a quick recipe so perhaps I might use the precooked bacon in the future.

Kentucky Biscuits

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2012
Good basic biscuit recipe. Very easy to put together, my favorite type of recipe. ;) However, this was my first time trying out the roll out method and I didn't like it as much as just the drop kind so perhaps I will try this again but roll them a bit by hand. The biscuits just didn't seem as fluffy as the drop method.

Apple Strudel Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2012
Moist and delicious! Love having a crunchy sweet topping on my muffins. Half of my muffins looked perfect and the other half I ended up with little indents from something (too big of a butter chunk perhaps?) Very simple though, will make again. :)

Super Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2012
Very easy, very tasty! I had some leftover italian sausage I needed to use up so I scaled down the amount in half and it turned out great. Tastes just like a gravy from a greasy spoon.

Vietnamese Meatballs

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2012
Great recipe! Yes, there are a lot of liquids that make it hard to form balls and put on a skewer. I mixed the ground chicken with a pound of italian sausage, omitted the egg and stuck with the rest of the ingredients which gave it great flavor. I also added some bread crumbs so they could form better and just fried them in a pan. Will definitely make again! :)

Seven Layer Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
Very easy recipe and you don't have to be exact on the ingredients. I put this in a 9x13 glass dish and just adapt to the amounts I want. My hubby absolutely loves this! I think he ate the majority of the last dish!

Tuna Noodle Casserole from Scratch

This was fabulous! Got lots of compliments! Made it exactly how it was written. Adding the right amount of salt and pepper was key in the sauce for great taste. Great recipe to put into rotation for us!
