Eggnog Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2012
I made this for my family today and they were a hit. Instead of clarified butter, I used canola oil.

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2012
I have to admit that this is the best banana bread that I've ever made. I made one slight change and used dry buttermilk powder and water, instead of liquid buttermilk. You can also substitute sour milk (1 tsp. vinegar to 1/3 C. milk) if you don't have buttermilk or buttermilk powder. Next time I have over-ripe bananas, I will definitely be making this!

Blueberry Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2012
This recipe is fantastic! My husband is not one to eat anything with zucchini in it and he gobbled it up. Instead of baking four mini loaves, I made two regular loaves and baked it for an hour. I will definitely be making this again.

Crumb-Topped Rhubarb

Reviewed: May 7, 2012
I have made this recipe twice now. I increased the rhubarb by a cup so that it covered the entire pan. I also mixed the flour, sugar, cinnamon and salt together in a separate bowl and instead of mixing it with the rhubarb, I put the rhubarb in the pan first and then sprinkled the mixture over the rhubarb. Both times that I've made this recipe it didn't last more than a day and has become a family favorite.

Megan's Granola

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2012
I also have to give this recipe 5 stars. I made a few changes in the recipe. I used 1 1/2 cups each of slivered almonds and pecan pieces and left out the walnuts. I baked it at 300 degrees for 20 minutes and removed it from the cookie sheets immediately at the end of baking. If you leave it on the cookie sheets to cool, it will continue to bake and could burn.

White Cake Frosting II

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2012
I've made this recipe before and really like it. I don't usually make just white frosting, so I made the following adjustments to the recipe: -substituted butter for shortening. -added 1 TBSP of food coloring for 1 of the 4 tablespoons of water. The frosting tastes great. You can also refrigerate it to use later.

Lemon Cranberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2012
This recipe is great. I did not have lemon extract, so I used vanilla extract and the zest of one lemon. I will definitely make these again!

Crustless Cranberry Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
This recipe is GREAT! It takes no time to prepare and a short time to bake. I made it for a dinner with my in-laws and it was a huge hit. Just the right tartness and sweetness! I wouldn't change a thing.....

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

My family is very particular about cornbread and this is the only cornbread my family will eat. I've tried other recipes, by far....this is the best!

Dill Pickles

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
This is a fantastic pickle recipe!!! I have not had luck with making pickles and had given up making them until now. I followed this recipe and the suggestions below. I made dill, kosher and jalapeno versions. All I can say is that every jar that we've opened has been a winner and have gotten rave reviews. I will definitely be making these again next year AND will be doubling the recipe because the ones that I made this year will not last the winter!

Molasses Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2010
My family has made these cookies forever. It is an old, but great recipe that my mom got off a Brer Rabbit Molasses bottle in the 50's. I've played around with the recipe over the years to "perfect" it, but always return to the original one. You just can't change perfection!!!

Pat's Baked Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2010
I made these beans for a family reunion and they were a huge hit!!! I doubled the recipe and I followed a previous suggestion and used butter beans instead of garbanzo beans and am really glad that I did. I will definitely be making these beans again and again.

Rhubarb Cake I

Reviewed: May 10, 2010
I made this for my family this weekend. After reading the reviews of other cooks, I took the suggestion to increase the rhubarb to four cups and am glad that I did so. The cake was fantastic and got rave comments from everyone. This recipe is definitely one that I will make again and again!
