French Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2011
Super easy for a person such as me who doesn't bake a lot. I did add a Tb of butter and tsp of salt as a previous reviewer suggested. His/her estimate of 5 t of yeast was right on as well. Yummy and great job of mopping up sauce from the lasagne I served with it!

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
Fabulous and easy! I doubled the recipe and it made three large pans (my scoop was not the smallest.) I think these cookies are great even when they dry out a bit. I used festive mini Christmas paper cups and they were great seasonal treats.

Apple Crisp IV

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
This is by far the most fantastic cobbler or crisp recipe I've ever made. I don't have any luck with pies, so this is a great substitute as it forms a bottom and top crust. The recipe makes plenty of the crispy stuff that everyone loves, so there is no need to double it as I do with other recipes. Also, I baked it in a smaller but deeper dish.

Remarkable Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
This is NOT easy fudge. I cooked this recipe 2 times and it never came out right. Used a candy thermometer both times. First time I cooked it to 236 degrees and it came out too soft. Next time I cooked it to 240 degrees and it came out rock hard. Got a very bad burn in the process. Typing this review with 4 fingers. I'll never try cooking fudge again. It's a waste of ingredients and flesh.

Chicken Piccata

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
I use the chicken prep method in this recipe for chicken fried chicken because the chicken fries fabulously and is done to perfection. The sauce wasn't as lemony as I thought it would be, so I make regular old gravy instead and pour over the chicken and mashed potatoes. My boys love, love, love this.

Caramel Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
I baked in the oven as other reviewers suggested. It was extremely tasty and wonderful, but next time I will add a little flour to the apple layer to hold the juice together better -- it was a little too runny.

Finally a stuffing recipes I can live with for life! Every year I search for the perfect Thanksgiving stuffing recipes, but haven't been satisfied until this one. The cornbread and sausage made it fabulous. All of the proportions of ingredients seemed just right. Thank you JakesMom311!

Cranberry Sauce Extraordinaire

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
Good but not tart as one would expect a cranberry dish to be. I imagine the dried fruit added a lot of sweetness. I added a half can of store-bought cranberry sauce to bring back a little tartness to the dish.

Cherry Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
Like others, I used this as a "starter" recipe and added the works -- pineapple, marshmellows, cream cheese and nuts. It turned out to be very pretty but not very flavorful. In the future I will cut out the condensed milk and add some cherry Jello to the mix.

Easy Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
My family loved, loved, loved it. It will be added to my regular round of meals. I was surprised the chips stayed crunchy, but they did and it was great. I didn't have fresh tomato on hand so drained a can of diced tomatoes for the top.
