About this Cook
I love to cook! I like to play with recipies and tweak them to suit my needs; I also like to eat, cooking for family and friends is like therapy for me! I have lived in East Texas for the last 8 years, but I have lived in California, Minnesota (during my childhood), and New Mexico.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook everthing from Mexican food to Chinese food, I love to make candy, bake, and play with the grill outside! I think my Green Chile Chicken Enchilada's are the BOMB! I also like to prepare different kids of stir-fry's, they are so packed with flavor and good for you! Yum!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am known for big family get togethers, I started cookiing with my dad when I was 10 yrs old, and been going strong every since then. Holiday's are some of my favorite memories, and cooking for them has been truly rewarding. I love to pull out my old tin recipie box and find my dad's all time favorites, as well as some that my kids put together, it is the best.
My cooking triumphs
I think some of my best cooking triumphs have been cooking for church events (200 people at a time), to being asked to cater to private business dinners. I think that food should be pleasing to the eye as well as the pallet, and the aroma of a well prepared meal can't be beat!
My cooking tragedies
I remember the first time I tried to make country gravy; I was about 21 yrs old at the time and it was so bad, my dog wouldn't eat it! It was the most horrendous blob of gray stuff ever seen! lol...I've improved since then.

Soft Sugar Cookies IV
I love these cookies! They were so beautiful and tasted just right! I made two batches, the first exactly as written and they were perfect, the second batch I changed the extract to 1 tsp vanilla and one tsp lemon extract, they rocked! I like a little lemon to lighten them up a little bit more. These are my go to recipe!

Pumpkin Pie Bread
This recipie was a definite hit with my husband! I followed the advice of other reviews and doubled the spices, it turned out great! I will add chopped pecans next time I make this and I think I will bake it in a bundt pan for Thanksgiving...
