Kiwi Raita

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2010
A tragedy. I made it after reading the good reviews, but my dinner guests were appalled. The end result had a strong, unpleasant bitter taste. Possible reaction between the ingredients? It was so embarrassing!! I followed the recipe to a tee too.

Home-Style Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2010
Amazing! Tastes great by itself with a sprinkling of salt and drops of tabasco. Very easy to make too, just plenty of washing up thanks to the food processor, saucepan, etc.

Chocolate Picnic Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2010
Lovely but not excellent. I doubled the amount of chocolate required and it still doesn't taste chocolatey enough. I think some cocoa ought to do the trick next time.

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

I wished it was richer, but it was definitely easy to make.

Caramelized French Toast

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2010
Basically just french toast with caramel. I used half the amount of eggs and it turned out wonderfully! The caramel wasn't as easy as it sounded (mine turned out rather nicely but it had some gravel-like sugar left). I don't think the two go particularly well, but good effort.

Chicken Perkelt

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
Excellent! Tastes very good with rice too, love the gravy. Only adjustment I did was use fresh mushroom and clarified butter instead of canned mushrooms and canola oil.

Adobo Chicken with Ginger

Reviewed: May 7, 2010
Great! I would recommend adding a 1/3 cups sugar to make it sweeter (sweet, sour, salty, etc). I did add some cornstarch to thicken the sauce though as the sauce is really watery. Also used less vinegar, 1/2 cup is plenty.

Sour Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2010
A bit unexciting but very functional! Never try it with unsoftened butter though, I did that and had the ugliest icing ever.

Flourless Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2010
Ok it's true about the brownie thing people are saying. My problem with it was the cake turned out really really thin. Exactly how small does the baking tin need to be?! Tastes great though.

Chocolate Oil Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2010
Functional but a bit dissapointing; I followed it to a tee but it does indeed taste like one of those boxed mix cakes. Very easy though, but I wish the end product smelled as good as the batter did.

Sour Cream Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2010
I like it! However, I didn't even need to use that much sugar (it's atrocious). I used 1/4 cups sugar and it tasted perfect and tangy.

KJ's Mushroom Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2010
I didn't add the artichokes, but added more mushrooms instead. Worked out great! Tastes a lot like the ones they serve you in restaurants, I like the consistency of the sauce. Perhaps would really wow if it had a more novel flavour. Next time I might add some paprika or chilli.

AMAZING. I don't like nuts so I left it out. It tastes like salvation holy Jesus and Mother Mary I am making this again and again.

Broccoli and Cheese Brunch Casserole

Reviewed: May 7, 2009
This turned out surprisingly tasty and pretty. And this despite the compromises. I used brocolli, onions and mushrooms instead of pork, and used just 6 eggs. Though it needed about 65 minutes in the oven. Definitely making it again.
