Pumpkin Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2014
Really enjoyed the flavor of these pancakes and will be making them again! I was afraid the ginger would be overpowering so I cut it back to 1/4 teaspoon but kept everything else as listed.

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: May 16, 2014
Very fast to make, very easy and VERY tasty! I followed others suggestions and added 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce. I also stirred in approximately 1/2 cup water since I wanted my sloppy joes to be little gummy/saucey rather than drier/crumblier.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2014
Made this recipe with leftover fresh strawberries. It was really good and super easy to prepare. Will try it with different in-season fruit. Pairs nicely with vanilla bean ice cream.

Three Packet Slow Cooker Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2013
Added the extra 1/2 cup water as recommended by others but had to make a "slurry" with flour and water to thicken the gravy. The roast was tender but the kitchen had an odd smell from the seasoning packets. In fact, the gravy had a funky taste from the combination of spices and a bit af an aftertaste. Will stick with the Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast recipe from this site---much better.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2012
My husband liked this recipe, but I thought it was just okay. Even though I cut back on the sugar to 1/4 cup, it was still too sweet for my taste. There was also too much dressing-would add about half the amount and play with it if making again.

California Grilled Veggie Sandwich

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2012
Scrumptious!!! Used two pieces of Syrian bread and toasted the bottom only. Also added 2 tablespoons chopped, fresh basil to mayo mix. Will make many times again!

Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2012
Outstanding--better than the Honey Baked Ham Company brand. I did tweak the recipe but only slightly. I used a spiral ham. Made the glaze using 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves and 1/4 cup brown sugar instead of whole cloves and corn syrup. You will not believe how good this tastes!!!

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2012
Excellent recipe. For a more substantial variation add a piece of grilled salmon and some goat cheese-a great main dish salad. I often switch out the spinach for romaine and/or other greens. One of my favorite recipes from this site.

Brownie Biscotti

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2012
Really good biscotti recipe. I did not have any trouble with crumbling. Used a chef's knife and only waited 10 minutes before slicing. Then baked for 8 minutes per side in a 300F oven. Will definitely make again.

Ginger Glazed Mahi Mahi

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2012
Found the taste of the sauce to be overwhelming. First time making Mahi Mahi, and I prefer other fish over it. Will not make this recipe again.

Grilled Tilapia with Mango Salsa

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2012
A really good, fresh tasting entree. I thought the marinade used to flavor the fish was outstanding. Served this with an herbed basmati rice on the side. Will be putting this in the rotation of favorites.

Seasoned Potato Fries

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2012
Healthy and tasty alternative to french fries. I cut back on the oil to 1 teaspoon, and it was plenty. Omitted the Italian seasoning but added some seasoned salt and sprinkled the potatoes with paprika before popping in the oven. Went great with grilled burgers.

Grilled Sea Bass

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2012
The fish was good but not even close to being the best I've ever had. Would make again but wouldn't be in a hurry.

Braided Easter Egg Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2011
Bread looked great for Easter. Thank goodness I read the other reviewers comments about the time-took mine out of the oven after 30 minutes, and it was perfect. Had a nice degree of sweetness. Definitely need to slice it down before serving or your guest will never cut into it!

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
A four star rating just for ease of preparation. Definitely need a few minutes under the broiler before serving. Missing a depth of flavor. Will play around with some seasonings and rubs next time. Change up the flavor by trying different sauces or make your own.

Simple Oven Fries

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
Healthy and much tastier alternative to deep fried potatoes. Also a better choice that store-bought frozen fries. Used with a Philly Steak Salad recipe from this site.

Philly Steak Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
Used sirloin instead of flank steak. Substituted Simple Oven Fries recipe from this site in place of frozen curly fries. Think next time I will marinate steak but not the onions and pepper. Much better lettuce variations available to use rather than iceberg. Recipe can easily be customized to suit individual tastes.
