Black Bean, Corn and Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2012
Delicious! Substituted Quorn crumbles and vegetable broth to make this vegan: absolutely delicious. My non-vegan husband topped it with Mexican sour cream and shredded cheddar, and added cornbread as a side. Yum!

Very good flavor. Used at least 4 cups of water. Omitted the meat to make this a vegan meal, very tasty!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
very good! doubled the BBQ sauce. also, if you heat this up the next day, add a bit of water and more BBQ sauce to restore the pork to being juicy.

Pasta Fagioli

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2011
pretty bland. added extra garlic and parsley, as well as white pepper and basil. this can easily be made into a vegetarian soup by substituting vegetable broth for the chicken broth. I omitted the bean liquid (yuck!) and it still came out just fine.

Pasta e Fagioli a la Chez Ivano

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
great flavor! I omitted the ground beef and used vegetable broth instead of the beef broth. Pasta e fagioli means 'beans and pasta' and when cooked traditionally should not include any meat.

Pumpkin Fudge

tastes yummy! but needs to be eaten within a few days of making. by the 4th day, fudge was hard and crumbly and lost most of its pumpkin flavor.

great taste, BUT: does NOT need to cook for the full time listed. 4 hours was almost too much for mine: started to get very soggy.

a candy thermometer is a must for this recipe. my fudge came out delicious but was quite lumpy, and the pan i used was almost ruined b/c i had the heat on too high.

Maple Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
delicious after the following modifications! 1. decrease the butter to 1/4 cup 2. add cinnamon and nutmeg i have also replaced the maple syrup with about half of a bag of unwrapped carmels. these melt as you cook, so no need to warm/melt in the microwave before baking. perfect for fall!

almost perfect! double the garlic, and you'll probably need more olive oil than what the recipe originally calls for.
