Country Fried Steak and Milk Gravy

Very good comfort food! I prepared the dish exactly as stated in the recipe except I cheated and used packaged white gravy. I will prepare it again but I feel it needs more pepper.

SOoo easy! and very good! My kids (ages 11 and 13) make this themselves and decorated the cookies. My son experimented a little by adding peppermint and lemon extracts in place of the almond. They both turned out good. They did need to add a little more milk to achieve the right consistency.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Not a big fan of sugar cookies but these are the best I've tried. I followed some of the other advice and rolled mine out in powdered sugar on top of parchment paper. Turned out great!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Best chocolate chip cookies I have eaten! I'm usually not a big fan but my daughter wanted to bake some and we tried this recipe. We followed the directions exactly and cooked them on parchment paper. They came out perfect!

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Delicious! I followed the suggestion that others made regarding using coconut milk + enough 1/2 & 1/2 to make 3 cups. I also made my own whipped cream using 8 oz whipping cream, 2 tbl powdered sugar, 1/2 tsp vanilla & 1/2 tsp coconut extract. (This was my first attempt and turned out quite well) Other than this, I followed the directions as stated. It made the perfect amt from my 9" pie shell. It was refrigerated for approx 3-4 hours before serving but I found it to be even better the next day! Another great addition to my recipe book!

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

I followed the recipe as stated except I used a butt roast that I already had. I seasoned it with cajun seasoning then I followed the directions. It was super easy and the sandwiches were great! I made enough to freeze for another day. I'll definitely be making this easy meal again!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Great apple pie! I also added the cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. To me, apple pie is not apple pie without those ingredients. I poured the sauce over the apples and lattice top as instructed and it came out great! It didn't come out quite as sweet as my normal apple pie (recipe from Martha White cookbook) but it may have been the apples. I also made the No Fail Piecrust II from this site except I used 1/2 lard and 1/2 unsalted butter and it also came out terrific!

Vicki's Hush Puppies

I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because it needed a little less sugar and more seasoning. I added garlic, red pepper, black pepper and salt. They turned out great!

Traditional Mashed Potatoes

This is your basic traditional mashed potatoes. Great with gravies or by themself. Delicious! definitely better than instant!

Libby's® Famous Pumpkin Pie

I have made this for several years now. I follow the recipe as stated and it comes out perfect everytime. Very easy to make and will be a nice edition to any Thanksgiving table.

No Fail Pie Crust II

This is my 2nd attempt at actually making a pie crust and it was great. I specially searched for one using lard because older ladies said using lard made it flakier and, boy, were they right! It was also easy to roll out. Will definitely be using this recipe again.
