About this Cook
Stay at home mom of five kiddos and have a great guy who puts up with all of me...good, bad and the ugly, lol. I love cooking for my family and am so happy when they really enjoy something I make! I love to cook foods from different cultures and cannot cook any meat but chicken no matter how hard I try :(
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! The science behind it is really cool to me!! Taking a little of this and a little of that and voila, you get something amazing!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holiday cooking is something I love and so does my family, it's all the standards but it's comforting for us all. My Mom used to make us roast beef and brown macaroni and I have tried to pass this on to my kids but as stated previously, meat and me cannot seem to get along, lol!
My cooking triumphs
Chocolate chip cookies. I tried for years to make them and they always came out really bad and then I used a recipe from here and I finally have conquered my cookie failure :)
My cooking tragedies
I made some Paula Deen sweet potato balls for Thanksgiving and they turned out so gross and they fell apart in the one ate them, not that I blame them lol. And that is just one of many, many cooking failures..but I keep on trucking!!

Bananas Foster II
Scumdumbalyumptious!! Yum! Not a huge fan of cooked bananas so it took a while to try but boy am I glad I did!! I used the coconut rum and rum extract cause that's all I had and it was still great!! My husband LOVED it too! :) Thanks for the great recipe!!

Stuffed Baby Yorkies
When I first took these out of the oven they smelled kind of eggy and I wasn't too sure about the texture but.........Wow!! I have never had Yorkshire pudding before so I can't compare but they are so good! They almost end up like a dumpling, it was amazing that something so good could come from so few ingredients!!

Alison's Colcannon
I have made this twice now and I have to say this is really delicious!! The combo of the potatoes and cabbage is perfect and something different yet so easy to make. It is a great dish for any meal but of course anything Irish, German or the like! I halved the recipe and made coleslaw with the rest of the cabbage. Thanks for the great recipe!!
