I am a 40-something mom. I have been married for 23 years to my high school sweetheart. We have actually learned to cook together. My mom is a wonderful cook and his, well, let's just say he ate alot of meals at my house in high school.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything with my husband. We love to find a recipe and make it our own.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Just cooking all the time with the family, that's a wonderful tradition in itself.
My cooking triumphs
Apparently my wedding soup is pretty good and my lasagna. When I make either one of these, I have to make extra for family and friends.
My cooking tragedies
We did try a fish recipe with dill and it was horrible. It has turned my daughter off of fish to this day. Oh yea, I also made this one recipe before we got married, I believe it had hard boiled eggs in it. He was so cute, trying not to hurt my feelings but then again trying to find a way to make sure that he would never eat that dish again.

Chicken, Asparagus, and Mushroom Skillet
This was wonderful!! I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of substituting Marsala wine for the white wine (just a matter of preference on our part) I would definitely recommend this to everyone. Thanks so much for sharing!

Baked Asparagus with Balsamic Butter Sauce
We have been making a version of this recipe for a couple of years. We don't bake the asparagus we just steam it (even in those new steamer bags for the microwave) and pour the sauce over. We have used this balsamic butter for a variety of things, steak, potatoes,etc.. Try it on other things and see what you prefer. It's awesome!

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken
My husband and I made this last night and it was awesome! We doubled the sauce simply because we like to have the extra sauce for the rice and vegetables. It is a great base recipe. You could add or take away anything and it would still be good.
