Roasted Tomatoes with Garlic

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2014
I make this recipe all summer when the tomatoes are fresh and local. I freeze leftovers in a baggie and when I want "that taste of summer" I thaw one out and make some pasta, stir together and sprinkle with some fresh grated parmesan cheese, It's a perfect lunch or side dish. I usually add more garlic but that's just a personal preference.

Yogurt Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2014
When my granddaughters were toddlers we made a variation of this. My two year old would roll the chicken tenders in yogurt and her 3 year old sister would roll these in a mix of Italian bread crumbs and parmesan cheese. You do have to be careful that they don't put their hands in their mouths but I found out that they eat much better when they share in the preparation. While the chicken was baking they would tear lettuce and mix a salad. Both of the girls are now grown and are excellent cooks.

Fast English Muffin Pizzas

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2014
When I was a child my mother would make these on toasted hamburger buns. Now I make them for my great granddaughter. It's fun for the children to help with no matter how young they are.

Grandmother's Sour Cream Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2014
I have made my cucumbers this way all my life. My grandmother and mother made them the same way. Like the other review, I always salt them and rinse them before mixing.

Cranberry Orange Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2013
I made these this morning. The only change I made was...I only had Pecans so that's what I used. I, like another reviewer, preferred them without the glaze. Just perfect, sweet, a bit tart and chewy. Thank you Mordavia.

Chef John's Make-Ahead Turkey Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2013
I had a rotisserie chicken and threw the carcass and leftovers in a pot and made stock. I continued with this recipe and made the most wonderful tasting gravy. Everyone raved about it. I will definitely be making this again. Thanks Chef John.

Debbie's Frito® Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2013
I have a version of this in the oven right now. I had made some chili a couple of days ago and had almost a quart left over so I thought this sounded good. I only had white corn chips but I used them, the black olives and cheese. I couldn't imagine using 2 pounds of cheese so I had an 8oz. package. It looks and smells awesome. Thank you for the recipe. I'm giving it 4 stars because I've not followed it exactly but next time I will try your version.

Hot German Potato Salad III

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2013
I liked this recipe but I also didn't have enough of the sauce. It was dry so I made another batch and added it to my potatoes. I also would cut back on the celery seed. Just my preference. Would make it again but double the sauce.

Cucumbers in Sour Cream

Reviewed: May 4, 2013
This is the same way I make mine but with less sugar. I like the "slightly" sweet and sourness 1/3 cup is way to much. I also like my cucumbers peeled and salted than rinsed with water, drained and with sliced onions added. This was always the way my mom did it!!

Broiled Grapefruit

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2013
I've never put butter on mine but I have been eating broiled grapefruit for years. This is my favorite way to make it. I just sprinkle it with the sugar cinnamon mix and put it under the broiler. This is the only way my granddaughters will eat it. Now that I take a Statin drug,it is a real treat for me because I only allow myself one a year.

Zucchini and Eggs

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2013
My mother used to make this when we were children. She would fry bacon and dice the zucchini and cook it in a little of the bacon grease "until the water went out of it" and put the beaten eggs in and stir. I made this for my children and now I am a great grandmother and still have wonderful memories of this dish. I think the next time I make it, I may add some of the ingredients suggested by some of the other reviewers.

Soft Sugar Cookies IV

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2012
I made this recipe because I wanted a sugar cookie not a cutout. The dough was very crumbly making it necessary to pack it to make it hold together. The result was more dense than I wanted. Also they lacked flavor. Sorry, I won't make these again.

Garlic Aioli

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2012
I boiled some small red potatoes to dip in this. My garlic cloves were quite large so next time I would use a bit less. I also "wooshed'" everything together in the vitamix..Yummy Thanks for sharing.

Bread Machine Focaccia

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2012
I found this recipe this morning and printed it and already made it for our lunch. Wonderful recipe but we don't like rosemary so I used a little coarse salt and some Asiago cheese on top. It has a little to much raw garlic taste so next time I will use just a little garlic powder but I definetly will make it again. Thank you for the recipe.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2011
I make Prime Rib for our annual Christmas Eve dinner but I have 3 in the family that don't eat beef so I was looking for an easy Chicken dish. I am so glad I found this one. It was the hit of the party even some of the biggest meat eaters ate just as much of this as the beef. I did use canned muchrooms because it was what I had Two of the guests have already asked for the recipe. Thank you for such a fabulous easy dish. Bonnie

Biscotti

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2011
I have been using this recipe ever since I found it a few years ago. It is definetly one of my favorites and one of the most requested each year. I just want everyone to know how easy and good this is. You can use other flavoring but the Anise is one of the traditional Italian flavors. Thank you for posting it and I'm sorry I took so long to rate it.

Orzo with Parmesan and Basil

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2011
This is fantastic. Ordinarily I wouldn't make any adjustments but I didn't have enough parmesan so I used half Romano. It still was great. I served it with some boiled shrimp and sliced tomatoes. The whole meal only took about 15 minutes. Thanks for a recipe that I will be making over and over.

Lemon Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2010
For taste I would give it 5 stars but it was so soft it was more like a spread. I had to put it on the plate by spoonfuls and sprinkle the crumbs on top.
