Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2010
A good, hearty soup. Make sure you remember the vinegar (I used balsamic) because it's what REALLY makes the soup worthwhile!

Banana Bread VI

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2010
This is a fantastic recipe! Like a previous reviewer, I chose it because of it's lack of baking soda -- that it is a healthy option for a normally high-calorie dessert bread was a bonus! The directions are super easy to follow and very quick. The bread comes out dense and heavy, but that doesn't take away from the taste at all. I didn't have any of the problems with dryness that others had, but I suppose a dash of milk in with the mashed bananas would work well. The recipe is great as is, or with 1/4 or 1/2 cup of the flour replaced with quick cooking oats. Yum!

Chickpea and Couscous Delight

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
A very yummy recipe! And fairly flexible, too. I added bell peppers and used balsamic vinegar. I doubled both the oil and the vinegar... everything turned out great! Make sure to use the full two tomatoes -- they taste amazing in this salad. Thanks for the recipe!!

Buttery Cooked Carrots

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
A very good recipe and super easy, too! I followed the advice of several other reviewers and omitted the water from the sauce... and I still had a lot of sauce left over when the carrots were gone. I would make less next time.

Quick Cantonese Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
This sauce was okay, but nothing to really rave about. It was too oily -- 5 tablespoons was too much! I would use this recipe again, as it was simply and quick, but I would sub 1 tablespoon oil for an extra tablespoon soy sauce. Also, I only used one whole onion and that was the perfect amount.

Veggie Vegetarian Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2009
Very good, and easy for beginner cooks! Very filling, too. I added slightly more bell pepper and beans than called for, and omitted the mushroom. Next time I would throw in celery and zucchini, too. Overall, a great recipe for vegetarians and meat eaters alike.
