I graduated from Ball State about a year ago. I am currently living in Indianapolis, and I love this city. I have always enjoyed cooking thanks to my mom and dad who are both wonderful cooks!
My favorite things to cook
I love using my slow cooker for almost anything! My mother has taught me how to make the best comfort foods in a slow cooker. I also love to cook with chicken and mexican style foods. I am a sucker for dips and party dishes for entertaining as well!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sunday's in the fall and winter were always slow cooker days as I was growing up. I also looked forward to my father's saturday morning breakfast when he would fry our eggs in the bacon grease! One of my favorite fall traditions was carving pumpkins and seperating the seeds and baking the pumpkin seeds! YUM
My cooking triumphs
My biggest challange to date was cooking an entire Thanksgiving day meal! I was unable to go home for the holiday one year while I was away at school so, I took on the challenge of cooking the whole meal for me and a few of my friends who were also away from their families. With a little help from this site, and A LOT of phone calls home to my mom, the meal was a total success from the Turkey to all the fixin's!
My cooking tragedies
I have never mastered the cooking of eggs. I can't make an omelet if my life deppended on it. I can not cook an egg over- easy. Nor can I hard boil, poach or pretty much do anything other than scramble my eggs!
