Papaya Bruschetta

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
The original idea is a good one, but like many others I modified a bit. I don't eat processed or cooked food much, so I used a good quality organic olive oil, no sugar (addictive and highly processed), lettuce instead of bread (I am still looking for a good raw bread substitute and lettuce don't get soggy), and added dates to sweeten the sauce. It is true that a ripe papaya can make all the difference. Choose one that is mostly yellow, soft but not mushy, and heavy. Fresh ingredients are always best! I used basil, tomato and papaya from my garden. With these adjustments, it was wonderful!

Guacamole

Excellent version of this wonderful treat! This is just like I make only I use tomatillos instead of roma tomatoes. I also add a little fresh jalapeno for heat. Oh no, please, never the powdered dead stuff! Fresh is always best, I recommend organic and local!

Easy Guacamole

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2009
Raw and fresh are definitely best! I use one key lime (small) and add some fresh cilantro. Then I use fresh carrot sticks, jicama, and celery to dip! More nutritious and better to the tummy. Yummm!

Russian Tea I

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
I grew up enjoying a similar recipe. Instead of water we used weak tea. I now make with green tea and honey as the sweetner to taste, but much less sweet than I had as a kid. Don't know about authenticity, but this is good with added rum also.
