Cowboy Cookies III

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2012
Want to know the trick to these fantastic cookies?? FOLLOW THE RECIPE!! Drives me UP THE FLIPPIN WALL when people rate/review and change the whole thing! UGH.. These cookies were fantastic! I am using them for the teachers as an end of the year gift with the 'I'm a smart cookie' quote :) Seriously, follow this recipe, exactly and it's fine. It's supposed to be a flat, chewy, delicious cookie! If you want a cakey blob, then this is not the cookie for you. These are a keeper, thanks so much for sharing! Oh, and I just love how many cookies it makes. Although there aren't many left now!

Absolutely the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2010
I think I may have died and gone to heaven. The PERFECT chocolate chip cookie recipe EVER! These are equivalent to the amazing cookies you can get at any good cafe. There are the perfect mixture of chewy, gooey and crispy. Anyone who has 'issues' with this recipe, obviously needs to review their kitchen skills. Easy to make, and far to easy to eat ( or inhale!) Thank you SO much for sharing. Now I FINALLY have my prefect recipe that I have been searching for.

Michelle's Peanut Butter Marbled Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2010
To start with, the brownie batter was very nice, easy to work with, as was the peanut butter/cream cheese mixture; however mixing the two nicely was a little more difficult than I anticipated. After making the brownies and allowing them to cool fully, I found the brownie itself to be very nice, but the peanut butter mixture was laking in the peanut butter for my taste. I found it more like a cheese cake brownie. I am giving it three stars, because the brownie was quite nice and I may make it again, but instead I will just use plain peanut butter. So three stars because I will be altering it. But thank you for sharing.

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2010
Well, this was a good bread. Typical bread machine bread though, just with a little extra fuss. No better than the recipe I have. In fact, I followed it to a t ( I don't like to alter, then post everything I have done, since then it's no longer the same recipe) and it didn't rise as well as my usual recipe. I am certain it was the salt, or lack there of. Not worth all the raving, not bad, but nothing special.

Peanut Butter Cornflake Crunch Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2009
Great! I used 2 cups of pb and pressed them into a 9x13 pan. As they cooled I sprinkles chocolate chips on them, let them melt and then smoothed the melted chocolate over the top. Yummy. I have made these before using rice crispies.

No-Bake Cornflake Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
I think that I must have done something wrong, I brought the wet part to a boil, and then poured it over the dry mixture, and it didn't stick or set I guess it would be. I think maybe it should have boiled for a little longer. I then pressed the un-sticky mix in a pan, and made squares. The taste is excellent, I will do this again, but boil it for longer next time. I used almond slices instead. I just prefer them. Also, for the person who said it was too 'peanut buttery'', did you read the ingredients?? If you had, you would have noticed, there is no peanut butter. Thanks for sharing, these were great!

Chewy Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2009
I am giving these 5 stars, EXCELLENT texture. My family and babysitters inhaled them. A full pan lasted us a whopping 4 hours. I personally wold like to have had more chocolate flavor. I think maybe I will add more coco powder and less flour. I like that they are still easy, but none of the boiling, and blah blah, I have little to no patients (or time really) for that. Also, I used a clear glass pyrex dish, some people were having trouble with it sticking and being hard? Maybe you are using the wrong pan. Also, like anything, don't keep opening the oven door. It lets the cool air in, and shocks the brownies. Use your oven light, and don't look until the time is up, then you can start peeking. Thanks sooo much for sharing :)

Quick and Easy Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2009
These were great! Very chocolaty, and nice crispy edges. I followed the other reviews, and only used 1 cup of flour. HOWEVER, I did find them to be very, 'eggy'. Maybe I could try with less egg, or all the flour? Not exactly the chewy dense brownie I am looking for. They are great though, very nice, light, fluffy and that is why I am giving it all the stars, good, just not what I am looking for specifically. I would make them again though. Thanks so much.

MMMMM... Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2009
Followed the recipe the the letter, if I was blinded, I could easily have believed they were crispy bites of cake. I baked them in a 9x9 glass pan. They fell big time in the middle, leaving me with a very thin chewy cake, and an outside that was as hard as a rock. Very little chocolate taste, and I had read other reviews and used milk chocolate chips. They were hard to mix at first, but eventually they came together and the batter was very easy to work with. Once they cooled, they were hard as a rock. Sorry, but i will have to keep on looking. Thanks anyhow.

One Bowl Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
Alright, I followed the recipe to the tee. They took much longer to cook. They are very chewy, however not very chocolaty. These are good if you want a mild chocolate brownie that is good and chewy. I found them a little greasy to. I really had my hopes up for a good brownie. I might try to alter, but right now, I will just keep looking though. Sorry :( Thanks though.

Best White Icing Ever

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
Great! I had less icing sugar than I thought, so I had to half the recipe. Still worked great, and I added a pinch of each, cloves, allspice and cinnamon. Yummy!! My toddler loved it! I found it sweet, but no sweeter than any other icing, and by adding the spices, it helped to balance the flavors out. Also I used 1/2 lard and 1/2 salted butter. I will use this one again for sure!

Cherry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2009
I have used this same recipe for years, love it. Any of you who thought it was 'runny' or 'too sweet' obviously did something wrong, didn't measure , or tried to use something that was not listed in the ingredients. My secret, is I use a spring form pan, and as I add each layer I keep it in the freezer. People here fight over it! I also make my own fruit topping by stewing berries or whatever I have on hand, thickening it, let it cool of course and pouring it over the top. I see some of you have baked it, I will be trying that myself! Thanks for sharing :)

Tea Biscuits

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2009
I came across this recipe while looking for something else. I noticed that it was the exact same as mine. I LOVE this recipe, I use it for a variety of different things, sometimes I mix cheese, or apple into the dough, or I have even used it for a crust for a pot pie. Very delicious. My personal note would be, DO NOT use butter, you must use shortning, or I use lard. That's what makes it so flaky. Follow this recipe and you will not be disappointed! Thanks for sharing!

Fluffy Banana Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2009
This was wonderful! Light and fluffy, and full of flavor! Not sure what the problem was with the others that thought it was dense. I didn't change a thing, made it exactly the way the recipe said to. Delicious. I made two heart shaped cakes, and I will be sending one with my daughter to school for her class party tomorrow. Wonderful recipe, thank you for sharing!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2008
FINALLY!! A recipe for chewy cookies, that are actually CHEWY!! These are amazing. I have been looking everywhere, and even tried several from this site, to no avail. Until these, they are crispy on the edges, and soft in the centre. Even after they cool. Not cakey, just...buttery, and I used milk chocolate chips. Everyone LOVED them! Thank you!!
