Honey Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
Great bread!!!! Moist, and not too crumbly like other wheat bread recipes I've tried. And not too dense either. Perfect! I followed the suggestions of other reviewers and did the following adjustments: 2 cups wheat flour, 1 cup all-purpose (I didn't have bread flour), increased honey to 1/4 cup, increased salt to about 1/2 tsp., and used butter instead of oil. I also used the dough cycle on my bread maker and then took it out, put it in a bread pan covered with sprayed plastic wrap, and let it rise for an additional 40 minutes. Then baked it at 350º for 35 minutes. Lately I've been separating my bread into two small bread pans and baking smaller loaves. (350º for 25 min)

Delicious Healthy Strawberry Shake

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2009
This tasted like a mix between and shake and a smoothie and was really delicious! I love that it has a thicker texture like a shake, but is healthy like a smoothie. My 2.5 year old son loved it and kept calling it "ice cream". I did make a few changes. I only used 1 cup of skim milk, increased the honey to about 2 Tbs and the vanilla to 2 tsp. ** I also used my Magic Bullet, which made it EASY!

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2009
Really soft cookies! Delicious! I added milk chocolate chips too, but I don't even think these cookies would need them. Oh, almost forgot.. I used wheat flour and they were awesome!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough + Cupcake = The BEST Cupcake. Ever.

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2009
***** These are so melt-in-your-mouth-delicious! ***** I wanted to take some to the neighbors because I didn't think we needed 24 naughty cupcakes around our house, but my husband wouldn't let me! (and he's not even a dessert person!) - - - I used a Devil's Food Cake mix, and topped them with the 'Cream Cheese Frosting II' recipe on this site. I froze the dough overnight, and plopped them onto the cupcakes right before baking. Super easy!

I use Minute Rice (brown or white) with this recipe and it is SO QUICK and works great with chicken burritos and tomatillo sauce! This is my go-to spanish rice recipe. : )

Cheesy Potato and Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2010
Quick, easy and delicious. I didn't have celery, but I did have pre-cooked, crumbled bacon, so I put some of that in. And I used regular shredded cheese instead of "processed cheese" (didn't have that either).

Broccoli Cheese Soup V

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2010
I followed the recipe exactly and this soup was perfect!!! It did make quite a bit... perfect for leftovers. Edited to add: Next time I make this I will probably put 1/2 in large freezer ziplock bag and freeze for later.

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
GREAT RECIPE! Followed everything exactly as far as making it, but when I served it I took the suggestions of others and put chicken over rice and then poured sauce over it all (rather than putting chicken back into sauce)

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies I

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
I have never given a 1-star rating before, but these cookies just simply didn't work. I followed the recipe EXACTLY, and they were extremely flat, hard little cookies. On the last pan I finally did a larger scoop, lowered the oven to 350º and baked a minute or two longer. This seemed to help a tiny bit, but these cookies still were not good. I hate giving a bad rating, and can't figure out how this worked so well for so many, but these cookies didn't work. : (

Egg Salad Sandwiches

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
Good, but not great. I like dill flavor, but I thought this recipe called for a bit too much. Very flavorful, but at the same time all the spices overpowered the egg taste. I wanted to taste more egg.

Broccoli and Carrot Lasagna

Reviewed: May 18, 2011
I really liked this recipe, but my family did not love it. My husband is a meat & potatoes kind of guy though, so to be fair, a veggie lasagna is probably just not right for him.

Tomato-Cream Sauce for Pasta

Reviewed: May 23, 2011
I've made this twice. The first time I used 1% milk because I didn't have cream and added flour to thicken and it tasted good, and I'm sure the cream would make it just that much better! The second time I made it, no one (including me) really liked it. ??? It was really bland (which is weird because of all the spices). I hate that I can't rate it higher, but I'm only giving it 3 stars.

Green Slime Smoothie

Reviewed: May 24, 2011
WARNING: This is very difficult to blend with a regular blender. Put the banana and ice chips (and I added a bit of water) in first, then the spinach, and the strawberries in last, adding just a few at a time.

Prego® Now and Later Baked Ziti

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2011
Great recipe for how easy it was. I made it with less meat (about 1 lb) and more sauce (about 1/2 more jar) and I think it would be dry had i not made these adjustments. I also added Italian seasoning. I was able to make one 9x13 pan and one 11x7.

Surprise Apple Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2011
Like others, I added 1 small box of vanilla instant pudding. This is such a fun, easy "salad" to take to a BBQ! Mmmmmm! *** I mixed the cool whip and pudding, let it set up in the fridge and then added the frozen snickers chunks and apples to it.***

Laura's Famous Aebleskiver

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2011
I had my doubts because this recipe just seemed too simple, but these turned out great! I didn't have buttermilk, so I used 1% milk and it worked well. I filled the cups full and they were much prettier than only filling 2/3 full. * * I used my Aebleskiver pan on my flat cooktop and it worked well. * *
