Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2013
Great flavor. The cookies flattened out quite a bit, but that happens to me no matter what oatmeal recipe I try, so I don't think I can really blame this recipe. When cooked for 8 minutes, they were perfect :)

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2013
I followed the directions exactly. It was very good and flavorful... Husband and I both thought it was too salty though. I will definitely make again, but with about 1/4 the amount of salt.

Make Ahead Manicotti

This was a big hit with family and extended family. I only used 1/2 the spinach and I think it was the perfect amount.

Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2013
The first time I made this I had to slightly adjust and substitute with what I had on hand. Fam loved it. It was really smooth and yummy. Second time I made it exactly how it says and it had a slight rough texture to it. Smelled great, and "taste" was good, but texture made it not so great. I'm doing 3 stars for now, but I will definitely want to try it again and see what the problem was.

Divine Hard-Boiled Eggs

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2012
The first time I did my eggs following this recipe they worked out just perfect! The second time (just a few days later) they turned out awful. The whites were sort of mushy and the yolk was not hard boiled. Definitely did NOT work. I can't figure out why it didn't work the second time. :(

Taco Soup VII

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2011
I wish there was a way to contact the person who submitted this recipe and find out if it is supposed to be dry onion soup mix, or taco seasoning. Having said that... I put 7 Tbsp taco seasoning in (I was slowly trying to add it to see how much I needed, and it ended up being quite a bit), and then approx 1/2 tsp onion powder. This is a VERY thick soup... almost like a chili-soup. Good with shredded cheese and nacho chips, or poured over a baked potato. Considering how easy this soup was, and how very little ingredients were required, it really is good. ;)

Roasted Garlic Lemon Broccoli

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2011
Really yummy. Good flavor... maybe even a little too flavorful. Next time I will cut salt down to about 1/4 tsp. Seriously... very salty. Also, I didn't have lemon, but it was great without. I did have to leave in oven for much longer than 20 minutes... probably closer to 30, but that might be because my pieces were not very tiny.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2011
Perfect! I made in 4 smaller bread pans rather than 2 large, and I followed another reviewers advice and added a crumb topping about 15 minutes into baking. (Crumb Topping: 1/2 c. regular oats, 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1/4 c. flour, 1/4 t. cinnamon, 1/4 c. butter.)

Cheesy Butternut Squash Pasta Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2011
Good sauce.... different and fun. Not too difficult, and doesn't require crazy ingredients. The sauce seemed a tiny bit bland, so I added quite a bit of salt. Next time I'll try adding some brown sugar like others suggested. I also put about 2/3 of the sauce in my Magic Bullet/Blender and then mixed back together with the rest (but that's personal preference, and because I knew my kids wouldn't want the chunks). It was a bit thick, so I added more milk. The husband liked it, but didn't seem to loooove it, so I'm giving it 4 stars. :)

Laura's Famous Aebleskiver

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2011
I had my doubts because this recipe just seemed too simple, but these turned out great! I didn't have buttermilk, so I used 1% milk and it worked well. I filled the cups full and they were much prettier than only filling 2/3 full. * * I used my Aebleskiver pan on my flat cooktop and it worked well. * *

Surprise Apple Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2011
Like others, I added 1 small box of vanilla instant pudding. This is such a fun, easy "salad" to take to a BBQ! Mmmmmm! *** I mixed the cool whip and pudding, let it set up in the fridge and then added the frozen snickers chunks and apples to it.***

Prego® Now and Later Baked Ziti

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2011
Great recipe for how easy it was. I made it with less meat (about 1 lb) and more sauce (about 1/2 more jar) and I think it would be dry had i not made these adjustments. I also added Italian seasoning. I was able to make one 9x13 pan and one 11x7.

Green Slime Smoothie

WARNING: This is very difficult to blend with a regular blender. Put the banana and ice chips (and I added a bit of water) in first, then the spinach, and the strawberries in last, adding just a few at a time.

Tomato-Cream Sauce for Pasta

Reviewed: May 23, 2011
I've made this twice. The first time I used 1% milk because I didn't have cream and added flour to thicken and it tasted good, and I'm sure the cream would make it just that much better! The second time I made it, no one (including me) really liked it. ??? It was really bland (which is weird because of all the spices). I hate that I can't rate it higher, but I'm only giving it 3 stars.
