Apple Strudel Muffins

Reviewed: May 14, 2009
Delicious! I gave this recipe 4 stars instead of 5 only because I tweaked it a bit. I took the suggestion of other reviewers and added 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 tsp nutmeg, also using 1/2 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup brown sugar. I used 2 apples, one chopped (Gala) and one grated (Granny Smith). They tunred out AMAZING. I made 6 regular sized muffins and 24 mini-muffins. My husband could not stop raving about them. These are going to become a staple in my home!

Pillow-Soft Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
This recipe is amazing! I made these for my husband's family a couple nights ago and they were a huge hit! I did end up using quite a bit more flour, but they turned out fantastic. Everyone raved about them, which I thought was pretty good considering it was my first time making rolls from scratch. I'm pretty sure this will become the one thing I am asked to bring to family dinners!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: May 10, 2009
I was not very impressed with this cake. You can definitely tell that it was made with cake mix, it actually kind of tastes like one of those chocolate muffins you can get at the grocery store bakery. It wasn't bad, but it definitely didn't live up to its 5 star review.

Three-Meat Stromboli

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
Delicious! I was looking for a simple, yummy recipe to take up to a friend and her family after she had surgery and thought stromboli fit the bill. Considering I'd never made it before, I thought it would be a good idea to make it for my family first. Well, when I told my husband what I was making, he was less than excited and told me that he didn't like stromboli. Suprise! He LOVED it! I made one with just ham at one end for my very picky one year old, which he also loved. Hopefully my friend's family will like this as much as mine did!

Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2009
This recipe is delicious! I did tweak it just alittle. I added Montreal Chicken seasoning with the oregano and pepper, leaving out the salt. I also ended up adding quite a bit more water and chicken broth. I only have a big crock pot, and I needed enough liquid to cover the chicken so it wouldn't dry out. Also, I added about half a bag of egg noodles for the last 25 minutes or so. Yum! My one year old son loved the noodles, and my husband loved the whole dish. I made the Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce, which I used to top the noodles. I threw the chicken on top of that and voila! I will definitely be making this again and again!

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2009
Yum! This recipe was wicked good, although I found that it called for too much milk. It ended up being a bit runny. But it tasted delicious! I made the Slow Cooker Lemon Garlic Chicken II from this site, then added some egg noodles for the last 25 minutes. I served the sauce over the noodles, then topped with the chicken. The hubby loved it! I will definitely be making this again.

Brined Bratwurst

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2009
This recipe is so good! I made this for dinner tonight and my husband and I both loved it. Last time I made brats I used the Beer Brats recipe from this site, this recipe is 100 times better. The onions tasted great, and the brats were delicious. The only thing I changed was browning them in a frying pan instead of grilling them. Will deinitely have the hubby grill them when I make them this summer, but winters in Maine are not condusive to grilling. I will definitely be making this again!

Cheesecake Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2009
I had such high hopes for this recipe, and I must say I was disappointed. It tasted nothing like cheesecake. I doubled the filling recipe, and if I hadn't this would have pretty much been crust with a thin layer of would-be cheesecake. Save your ingredients for a different recipe.

Beer Brats

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
This was very good, although they seemed to just taste like brats to me. My husband really enjoyed them, although after eating his first two he said that something didn't taste quite right. When he got his third, he left off the onions and said they tasted much better. The only change I made was not grilling them, as winters in Maine are not condusive to grilling. Instead I finished cooking them on the stove. I will be making this again, probably with a few changes.

T's Sweet Potato Fries

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2009
YUMMY! I made these to go with the Lemon Barbeque Pork Chops from this site, and they were delicious! I skipped the microwaving step and they still turned out wonderfully. I actually think that microwaving them would make them too mushy. The chops, these fries, and a salad made for a great dinner. My husband said it was one of the best meals I'd made, and it was so easy!

Christmas Morning Frittata

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
Yum! I made this for brunch on a very snowy day and it was delicious. My husband, who I didn't realize doesn't like "quiche-y things," went back for seconds! I did make a few changes. I left out the bread crumbs, tomato (as that is one thing I do know my husband dislikes), and green pepper. I used a small can of mushrooms, chopped up. I think the green pepper would have been great in here, I'll have to make sure I have one the next time I make this. I also lightly sprayed the plate with Pam. This is a wonderful recipe. I'm going to keep playing with it, adding different veggies and probably meat.

Cheesecake Cookie Cups

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
These were super easy and wicked good! However, I did make a few changes. I prefer a graham cracker crust, so I used the Graham Cracker Crust I recipe from this site. This turned out really well, I actually ended up making WAY too much crust, so I'm going to be making more of these today to send with my husband to work! Another change I made was the topping, I used the Supreme Strawberry Topping from this site instead of using the cherry pie filling. NOTE: This recipe should say to use SOFTENED cream cheese. While this may seem obvious to most, I am just beginning to learn how to bake and am quite clueless. It was next to impossible to beat all the lumps out of my batter. Regardless of that, I got rave reviews from my husband and friends.

Mexican Chicken I

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
Yum! I have made this several times for my husband and myself, and it has become one of our favorites. It's a very filling meal when served with salad and rice. The flavor is wonderful and the chicken is always nice and moist.

Super Easy Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
Yummy! Mine came out a bit dry, but that was probably because I decided to break in my new 6.5 quart crock pot using only 4 chicken breasts. I think that had I used my smaller one the chicken would have been covered by the sauce, making it moist. But the flavor was excellent, my husband really loved it. I served it with brown rice and mixed veggies, and the sauce was amazing on the rice. I will definitely be making this again!

Whipped Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
This recipe is wonderful! I made this for Thanksgiving and it was a big hit, with my family and my husbands! I doubled the recipe, stuck one in the fridge to take to the in-laws and brought the other over to my family. When we arrived at my in-laws, I just popped it in the oven for about 10 minutes without the marshmallows to warm it up, then added the mallows and cooked until they were golden. The only alteration I made was adding pecans. I did half marshmallows and half pecans on the one for my family, however, I layered the marshmallows on top of the peacans on the other. I preferred the latter, and found that my family would have preferred it that way as well. A delicious holiday dish either way!

Molly's Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2008
Delicious! My husband and neighbor absoluely loved this. I served it with brown rice and steamed Asian-style veggies. I did end up making extra sauce on the stove. I used the same recipe, just added some flour to thicken it up. It was delicious over the chicken and on the rice. It was a huge hit, I will definitely be making it again! UPDATE: For my second time making this, I used low sodium soy sauce and it was much less salty. I highly recommend doing this. I also added half a sliced onion and about 4 peeled and chunked potatoes. The potatoes were DELICIOUS!

Pork Chops in Beer

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
Yummy! I actually made this in the crock pot. I just threw everything in and then went shopping for the day! I used semi-frozen chops and cooked it on low all day. My husband loved it! As usual with the crock pot, the chops were very tender. They also had great flavor. I will definitely be making this again!

This was so good and so easy! I added a squeeze of lemon and served with white rice and salad. My husband raved about it! I think I will take the suggestion of other reviewers and try it in the crock pot next time.

Pineapple Cranberry Chicken

Delicious! I couldn't believe how yummy such a simple recipe was. The chicken was very tender and juicy. My husband and I both loved it. UPDATE: My husband was trying not to hurt my feelings when he said he loved this dish. Turns out he actually hates it. But I still think its delicious!
