Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Blue Cheese and Bacon

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2013
Needed more cooking time. Originally it turned out great. Made again and it wasn't the same. It needed more butter and longer cooking time. Added grated fresh mozzarella cheese too which made it better. They really need to be cooked for a longer time to make them soft. Loved them otherwise.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2012
Made this for book club ladies and what a hit. I was begged for the recipe not only because it was so moist and chocolatey but the icing I added. It is a coffee, cocoa & kahlua icing which gave it even more flavor. Add 2 tblspns butter, softened, 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar to a bowl. Heat 3 tblspns water and add to 1 tblspn granulated coffee, 1 tblspn cocoa. Pour into bowl then add 2 tblspns kahlua and mix. If too thin, add more powdered sugar, if too thick add dash water or kahlua. I also added large Girhadelli chocolate chips. This is a keeper for sure. Next time I might try strawberry icing. Thanks for a terrific recipe.

Steff's Shepherd Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2010
We had this for dinner and although I skipped the cream of mushroom soup (family not casserole fans with soup added), didn't add the green beans. I added 2 cans of rotelle tomatoes with green chillies as I had about 2lbs beef. Added garlic to the beef cooking and then again in the dish as well as onion. Placed the meat in 9x11 dish and added cheese to the meat then topped with freshly made (4 potatoes) mashed potatoes and then covered in cheese. Only cooked for 20 mins as all items were already cooked and just needed a little heating to melt the cheese. This was just delicious. We had our green beans on the side. Thanks for the recipe.

Beef Tenderloin in Creamy Porcini Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2010
Awesome! Next time will make sure use heavy cream. Used real torn up mushrooms as didn't have porcini mushrooms. Added 3/4 small chopped onion and 2-3 green chopped onions and 2 tspns garlic. Skipped the potatoes, salt and thyme part. Made separate mashed potatoes.

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2010
This was great! Cooked for only 3 1/2 hours not 4. Added extra garlic to have more flavor and added only 2 tblspns soy and 1 tblspn worcestershire sauce. Will make again.

Cooked too long 5 hours. Maybe only needed 3 hours. Or I needed more chicken.

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2010
So moist and delicious. Not too sweet either. I added chopped glazed walnuts to add the nut aspect. These were the best and now I can't wait for the bananas to get very ripe again to make more. I also froze 1/2 and individually wrapped in saran wrap. Take off saran wrap and place in microwave for 15 - 25 seconds (depending on the size of the muffin) and it's a great breakfast. I also added the topping in last 5 mins....next time 10 mins as muffins were already too high to sprinkle on top, it fell off.

Southern Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2010
We have used both pork and beef for this recipe and love it. We have had with a little too much spice and then with just enough for the kids. They love it too. Thanks for posting a great recipe. It does just fall apart.

Garlic Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2010
All my family loved this chicken. I didn't melt the butter and worcestershire sauce in a pan, but instead in the microwave but overall, I think it still worked out great. I did add garlic to the breadcrumbs instead of in with the butter and sauce and it still turned out great. My son didn't want bread crumbs on his chicken, thinking I was tearing up big chunks of bread. He said it was way, way better than store bought chicken tenders and they didn't even know there was extra of the onions in the crumbing. Oh and I halved the amount of chicken and butter but not the rest. Yes I have breadcrumb leftovers, but great for another time for maybe turkey. A total winner. Thanks.

Quick Savory Cranberry Glazed Pork Loin Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
I change some of the amounts in the recipe. I added apple sauce instead of apple jelly, used more garlic and horseradish by about 1 tspn and used honey mustard instead of regular. I also used jellied cranberries instead of whole berry and half the thyme. We also mixed it with pork gravy and it was delicious. The pork was very tender, however I used a bag and cooked it for 40 mins at 325 not 425 and it was still a soft pink in the middle which makes it more tender. A great recipe and one we will use again.

Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2008
They didn't have too much of a pumpkin taste which was good. Maybe cooked a little too long. Next time drizzle chocolate over the top and maybe coconut. Mine didn't look like picture.

Roast Beef and Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2008
Not a lot of flavor. One of those staple comfort foods. Add more garlic next time. Otherwise meat was tender and falling apart. Kids liked it too.
