Southern Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2010
I was really excited about making this given the reviews. However, I was so disappointed. I followed the recipe exactly. I put plenty of seasoning on the meat before browning, but the end result was bland shredded pork swimming in a pool of liquid. The directions said nothing about draining the liquid before returning the meat back to the crockpot after shredding it. Am I missing something?

Ozarks Potato Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2009
I chose this recipe because it is very similar to the one my mom makes and everyone raves about. She just eyeballs the measurements of everything and I have a hard time with that. The only difference is I didn't use onion and I chopped dill pickles to go in it. I also russett instead of red potatoes. I'll try the red next time. It was so creamy. It was delicious! My hubby said it's the best potato salad he's had. Thank you so much for sharing the recipe!

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2008
These muffins are really, really good! Made the original recipe exactly and sprinkled with brown sugar before baking. Have made these several times and people have asked for the recipe every time. Thank you for posting for this delicious and super easy recipe!!! UPDATE: If you want to cut calories even more on this recipe, use Pillsbury Reduced Sugar cake mix. I have made them several times and can not even tell the difference.

Southwest Chicken Salad I

Reviewed: May 19, 2010
Delicious!!! Will definately be making this again. It's a very light and refreshing salad. I didn't have any cilantro so that's the only thing I left out. I also added a little garlic salt to the dressing. I seasoned a couple of thin chicken breasts with garlic salt, chile powder and cumin. I baked it for 20 min. at 350. I cut the chicken into slices and it was sooo good. The flavor went perfect with the salad. I left out the tortilla chips and cheese to make it healthier. My husband kept raving about it too. It's a keeper! Thank you for the great recipe!!!

Chunky Marinara Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2011
This recipe was so easy and delicious!!! I only used half of a sweet onion and that was perfect for my taste. I made this sauce to go with another recipe from this site, which called jarred sauce. It is called 'Sausage and Peppers for a Dozen'. You would have to double this sauce recipe to go along with it. I halved the sausage recipe and it worked great. Thank you so much for this simple and yummy recipe!!!

Chicken and Bacon Shish Kabobs

Let me just say "WOW!". These are delicious!!! They were hit at our Sunday bbq. We will definitely be making these again. Next time I may add a few jalapeno slices to the skewers because we like some heat and I think they will work with these flavors wonderfully. Thank you for this awesome recipe!

Sausage and Peppers for a Dozen

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2011
These sandwiches were soooo good! I cut the recipe in half since it was just my husband and. I also made a very easy marinara sauce from this site instead of jarred sauce. It is called 'Chunky Marinara Sauce'. It went along perfectly with this recipe! I will make this again for sure :).

Heavenly Potatoes and Ham

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2009
This was sooo good I couldn't stop eating it. I used frozen country style hash browns (thawed), to save on prep time. And cream of mushroom instead of cream of chicken because I personally like it better. I baked it for a little over an hour and it came out perfect. They were absolutely "heavenly"!

Stuffed Cabbage

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
The reason i'm even giving this recipe 3 stars is because, at no fault of the person who submitted this, at the advise of someone who previously reviewed this recipe, I did not cook the rice first. Big mistake! It was like eating raw rice. (My fault). But with that aside. The cabbage turned out still somewhat crunchy and also a bit dry even after basting about every 10 min. The meat was also very dry. I used lean ground sirloin. Not sure if that would make a difference. Also bland for my taste. In addition to salt and pepper, I also used garlic salt and a dash of worchester sauce in the meat. Very disappointed. I love cabbage rolls and was so looking forward to making my own for the first time. With the good ratings thought I couldn't go wrong. Won't be making these again.

This recipe was absolutely delicious!!! My husband loved it as well. I also did half sour cream instead of all mayonaise. Besides that, I wouldn't change a thing.
