Ok, I will try to keep this short and not quite a rant.... but..... some of these reviews? I read one today that I felt really needed to be commented on. The words danced through my head all afternoon and I feel it is my duty to comment!! Some are very helpful and very useful but sometimes they are not...Isn't the purpose of a recipe review to review a recipe? Not an opportunity to "out do" or spice up, or write about how you didn't make it but here's some advice: blah blah blah. Just review that recipe if you made it!!  So, back to the one I had read today. I don't want to embarass anyone or shame anyone -it is totally not my intention...but come on!
This is the review, and I quote "I'm not sure what these taste like because I couldn't make them! I had no idea that ****** ***** was such a pain in the neck. Definitely make these if you have lots of time and don't make them for a party unless you've practiced a couple of times".
REALLY?  Then WHY review?  no, really? To the cook who wrote this, and you know who you are, REALLY? Please see above title. Ahhhhh, thank you all for reading, I can now calmly go about my evening.

You are singing my song! I have come to conclude people who make comments like that are so wrapped up in themselves they don't care they are not being helpful. The ones that really annoy me are those that make snarky remarks about what is wrong with the recipe and then procede to write a whole new recipe in the review. Again, I think they are too impressed by themselves.

No kidding. I agree BSM...I know just who your talking about. Can't remember the name but they bosted in those reviews about being an instructor. I don't like reviews like that. Makes the author's look ignorant. And that's just wrong.

I read this on a recipe I recently saved, "anyone who would use a ready pillsbury crust and then recommend just any old RED APPLES must...". If you haven't made the recipe you shouldn't review the recipe.

OMG, I read this, too. It drives me crazy when people say things like this without even making the recipe. Thank you for ranting about this because it really bothered me!
